    Precisely.

And the reason Rex Ryan is here this year is because Woody didn't want him to have a vacation on his $6M. So better to keep him here, have him endure the humiliation, and fire his 3-13 ass during Super Bowl week to create buzz away from the Giants and Patriots rematch at MetLife Stadium.

No way do you spend that on a non QB
It was the perfect storm one of the worst pass defense teams in the nfl last year with the most cap room....nobody else was giving him that.

Jon, the Jets had a Ferrari parked in the driveway of a dilapidated 800 sq. ft. house with bad plumbing. The smart move is to stop paying $20,000 a year in car insurance, sell the Ferrari and use the money to move to a decent house in the suburbs. In other words, get value and spend on what is really needed.

The Ferrari had a new motor never tested and was about to get stolen next year anyway.

we got all the market would pay. 8 picks this year, 12 next. this ain't bad.

I'll miss Revis. But he did this, not us.

The man, coming off major knee surgery, just got a $10 million dollar raise

Not a bad deal if you can get it

So they gave away a 1 and 3 for one of two things...

    1) one year of service and 16mm to an underperforming CB

    or

    2) $16mm a year for a CB

I'll ask the same question - if you're the GM of the Jets do you give Revis $16 million a year?

    I agree

But I'm sure as hell glad that we weren't the ones who gave it to him.

Answer: Only if the rest of your roster is pretty strong and your salary cap can afford it. For the Jets that's no and no.

    You're high.

You ever hear him talking about restructuring to save the Jets cap space??

Mevis has a good year next year and you can bet the farm he will be holding out for a new contract with guaranteed money.

History repeats itself and greed doesn't disappear when you change into another uniform.

I am very glad he is someone elses problem now.

I give him one more year. As much as I hate to say it.... He is in the upper half of coaches, barely.

    I think we win 6 to 8 games in 2013 .

So you would've rather kept Revis for one more year, which is bound to be a lackluster season, and then watched him leave for nothing more than a 3rd round comp pick?

We just got a Top 15 pick as well as a future 3rd for a corner coming off ACL surgery and asking for $16 million dollars a year.

Before the Harvin deal, I would've called you a f*cking goof if you told me we could get this kind of haul for Revis.

In what way did we drop the ball on this?

Thank God for the Bucs. They were literally the only suitor out there, bidding against themselves, and we still walk away with the 13th overall pick.

    I'm totally satisfied.
So take all the first round picks since Namath, and tell me which ones turned out better than Revis. We have a one in 45 shot at getting someone of his quality... yeah, great deal... can't wait!
