Lighten up, it's draft time. You'll need your sense of humor...

    Good point, my bad.

I could live with this, but that's really putting all our eggs in the passing game basket with still no viable QB on the roster. Sets us up well to cut Holmes after the season though.

Mayock's never had a handle on who we're talking.

I can live with that, setting up the offense nicely for when we draft a real QB next year (Bridgewater/Manziel...fingers crossed).

This draft is very hard to figure because players will be there that fit what we need.
    We need OLB, OG, TE
The more I think about it I'm going
    Ansah or Mingo @ 9
    Eifert or Cooper @ 13

Either of these combos solidifies the trenches
No biggie if we don't get Eifert if we end up with Ertz (who I believe will be very good).
OK, If I have to make a solid decision & live with it
    9- ANSAH
    13- COOPER
    39- *HOPKINS
    Physical freaks!
    * Anybody see Hopkins on ESPN sports science? Absolutely crazy hand eye coordination. Was catching 1 handed 4' from the ball gun!
Caught 48 passes from the gun in a row..........1 handed! LEFT & RIGHT!

He will be the next Maybin. Too small. gets pushed around in college.

I would but my back is sore. Maybe 32 can lift it.

Not even just the Jets - league wide first round TE's are almost never ever worth it. Even Vernon Davis at 6 overall took 4 years to finally do anything.
Tony Gonzalez, Jason Witten, Dallas Clark, hell even Shockey while he was healthy . . .

I'm sorry but that's completely BS. You must be reading DBAKE's column again. The correlation of Mingo with Maybin goes as far the first letter of their last names. It's just idiotic. I'm still wondering how Jason Taylor made it in the NFL... 6'4" is too small?

My problem with Mingo is that he is 240 lbs and he refused to bench press for any teams. He's light and most likely weak, that's not a good combo for a rush OLB. All speed no power, where have we seen that before.

That was amazing, but can he catch Sanchez's passes in the dirt or 4 feet over his head? It was great how they broke down how little time people have for the brain to send a message to the body to catch the ball.

That's something that's supposed to get better in the NFL, with bigger, stronger, smarter QBs? Really?
    This. ^^^

A thing I didn't like about watching him on film was that he'd arrive to make hits in a lot of cases, and not wrap up with good tackling technique, so if the hit he delivered didn't knock the player down, they could run through him. I noticed he bounces backward a lot off of RBs too, when delivering hits.

In contrast, watch Jarvis Jones, and you almost never seen him not hitting through a player, wrapping up, and decimating them.

I'll take Jones over Mingo every day. Mingo hovers around tackles made by others sorta like Gholston did, and he's built like kinda like Mayo.

I would have no issue taking him .its better than taking a Guard which is probably the easiest position to fill in the NFL.
Jets have much more pressing needs before WR and TE. The OLB passrush was horrendously absent last year, we are perfectly poised to address that need. After that strengthening the OL especially G is the most pressing. Jets can get Hopkins in the 2nd and Escobar as well.I would support trading down with the second first rounder to stockpile picks in round 2 onwards.

Hopkins works for me. Ideally we should be able to trade down from #13 and get more picks.
