I have a funny feeling we're taking Mingo...

It's called the smokescreen behind the smokescreen effect. If the Jets SAY they're going to take Mingo, no one will believe it because they will be sure it's a smokescreen. But the smokescreen is really meant to make people believe that the Jets are actually going to pick somebody else, so that will leave the Jets in the perfect position to pick him.

I know, it's genius. In fact, it's inconceivable!

I just worry about him because the production at the college level was not great. Might be a better athlete than a player. If he gets picked, we'll know Rex has a big influence on Idzik

    My gut is telling me:
    #9: Fluker, Warmack, or Cooper
    #13: Jones, Vaccaro, or Hayden
    # 39: Hunter, Hopkins, Reid, McDonald, Kelce, who knows actually

i have feeling we're taking Jones. It's been too quiet on the Jarvis front for a team in need of his skills. We should have heard something by now.

    I have a feeling too.

Plus Tony Pauline keeps saying that he's being told we're taking a guard. Just like last year he kept saying we were taking Ingram.

I have a feeling were taking Cooper at #9 and if Mingo is their at #13 they'll take him and he's not, trade down.

I'm still not a huge fan.

But like I said before, if we take him, then I'll trust the front office.

Rex Ryan knows a lot more about defense than I do.

Untouchable, you're a big Warmack guy.

How would you feel if we picked Cooper over him?

I have a funnyy feeling Jets will end up with 5 starters from this weekend!

    RD 1Austin and Jones.
    Rd 2 Safety.
    Rd 3 Guard or Tackle
    Rd 4 TE
    RD 5 trade for Ivory.

    I wouldn't be upset

I think Warmack is slightly the better player but agree that Cooper may be a better fit for a zone blocking scheme.

Not a fan of Mingo. I love Ziggy and Jordan but I'd but Jarvis Jones before Mingo

    OG at 9
Best pass rusher left at 13

The only reasons not to do this is if we trade down, if somebody amazing falls to us like Floyd, or if we're in love with Austin/Eifert. I don't think any of those will be the case so I'm predicting we end up with Cooper and Mingo

Cooper/Mingo would be a perfect first round, in my opinion. Two big needs, balanced between offense and defense. Two studs.

I think Tony's information was probably correct and that the team wanted him; it's just that he (nor the Jets) expected a player rated as highly as Coples to drop to 16.

@JasonLaCanfora: For all of the chatter about the Eagles and Dion Jordan, for obvious reasons, I keep hearing more and more about Mingo in that 4th pick
