TAMPA, Fla. - Mason Williams, considered by many to be the top prospect in the Yankees' organization, was arrested early Thursday morning and charged with misdemeanor DUI, according to the Tampa Police.

Williams, an outfielder for the Yankees' Class-A Tampa affilliate, was pulled over "in the area of Armenia and Kennedy" of Tampa, according to the arrest report. His 2012 Range Rover was observed by police "weaving in the lane at [approximately] 50-53 mph in a posted 40 mph zone."

Upon pulling Williams over at 2:45 a.m., the arresting officer said the 21-year-old "displayed clues of impairment." A field sobriety test was performed and Williams, according to the report, displayed "additional clues of impairment and the defendant was arrested."

At Central Booking, Williams submitted to a Breathalyzer test and twice blew below Florida's legal limit of .08, blowing a .067 and .062, according to police.

Police said Williams was booked in at the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office "without incident."

Yankees pitcher Michael Pineda was arrested for DUI last August, eventually pleading no contest to the charge.

Reached Thursday morning, Yankees GM Brian Cashman declined to comment on Williams' arrest.

A 21 year old in a Range Rover? Bet the farm the breathalyzer wasn't the only thing he blew that night.

Yeah because no one would give him a loan based on future earnings...

Don't worry Cashman will soon trade him for an overpaid veteran pitcher.

What overpaid veteran pitcher has Cashman traded a top prospect for?

I was going to post the Piazza's ballet debut story, but a 21 year old kid drinking is much more compelling.
