"we took 2 of the top 4 players on our board" - Idzik

Obviously the talent evaluators are incompetent

If this is such a bad draft, which everyone says it is, why did we fight so damn hard for Tampa's first this year?

Wouldn't you rather have their first next year, and third this year? Or 1st and 2nd of next year?

Next year's draft has elite QB prospects, and the best pass rushing prospect in a over a decade. I think a bigger indictment of Idzik is him wanting the first this year instead of next. Especially since we know the jets are in a multiyear rebuild, not a retool and go.

I;m envisioning us trading back into round 1 for a QB. It's horrifying

I understand wanting an offensive player, but who are the good offensive values?

Warmack at 9? Alright, but Milliner's a better value. When the board fell like it did, I was screaming for Milliner.

And then at 13...Eifert? Slight reach. Richardson's a really good player. What's questionable about this pick is how he fits in our scheme.

Let's see how the rest of the draft falls. I still think we can get some help on offense.

    You people are ridiculous!
If your rebuilding, you take the BPA.
I don't know what draft boards you guys are looking at but Richardson is high on most.
You need Dlineman in this league.
We got the best CB in the draft that most mocks didn't have him getting past 6.
But guess what, we don't have to pay him 16 million.
This is a 2 year rebuild! How many times do you need to be reminded.
Plus you people are all freaking out & handing in your Jet cards & we still have picks 2-7!
You disrupt QBs up the gut in this new NFL. Looking at Mingo & Jordan I was thinking, " these guys look like Maybin".
Ziggy Ansah played 7 games, lol.
Jets will have one of the youngest, most powerful D lines in the league, plus you need backups like Ellis.
Jets will be 40 mill under the cap next year, FA & next years draft will round out the offense.
A lot of you guys were saying build a super D, well maybe they figured with Holmes coming back, Hill in his 2nd year, Kerley healthy, the addition of Goodson, & maybe Ivory, maybe Ertz at 39, maybe Guard at 3, who knows.
Chill out Jet fans, what did you think, you would turn it around in 1 year?

Except Miliner will still be on the team next season, and cost $13M less. Revis is certainly better, but it's not a 1 for 1 trade.

I thought about this scenario (ignoring a dreadful offense) when we were on the clock at 13. The ONLY way you continue to ignore the offense with premium picks is to want to have a good defense in place; continue to have a pathetic butt fumbling offense and be in play for Bridgewater or Clowney next year. This way, we will lose games, but lose in low scoring games. We don't embarrass ourselves 43 - 3 every game - Pathetic.

IMO, the Notre Dame TE was worthy of the 13th pick. You tell me Kyle Brady and I'll tell you Kellen Winslow. Not all TEs are useless. There have been great TEs in this league. Not saying this kid was/is Winslow, but d*mn, he is better than what we have on the roster.

This draft was so bad Mayock and Charles Davis were laughing at us after we made the pick at 13. I am tired of being laughed at on draft night.

    Thumbs down Putrid draft preparation....

Tanny, come back! Zero creativity, an inability to think on their feet/ in the moment, 9 and 13 and we get two "iffys"... Milliner arguably not even the top corner, similar value (if not better) CBs available later on, RICHARDSON?? A 4-3 DT not rated in the top 4 at his position? A position of least need? OK, let's imagine Hill takes a quantum leap at WR and our stable of junk pile RBs become middle of the pack, we got NUTHIN at OLB, Joe Blow at TE, we're down both guards (Colon? Stick a fork in him, done two years ago), no QB, no safetys, we STILL stink! A parakeet picking names from the BPA list would have done a better job...Goody, can't wait for that D draft grade...let's face it, pis$ poor planning, no draft plan, no contingency planning, we are thus far the idiots of the draft...Crazy Al Davis could do better (and I mean his corpse). WOW! :

The problem with Milliner is every SINGLE FCKING TIME he screws up, we'll get the media full force "is this what you traded Revis for?"

I don't mind him as a prospect and even at 9, but damnit have the Jets learned absolutely nothing about this market? You don't take a CB in the 1st given the context of what just happened. You just DON'T. Milliner's confidence is going to be DESTROYED by year 2.
