THERE WERE NO OUTSTANDING OFFENSIVE PLAYERS AVAILIBLE

Other than Tavon Austin, who was taken by the Rams, there were NO OFFENSIVE OUTSTANDING PLAYERS IN THIS DRAFT.

I've been saying this for MONTHS.

That's why the Jets took defensive players. Not because Rex Ryan is in charge. You guys just jump without thinking.

And don't give me the guards. You draft guards in the later rounds.

The only O player was eifert and i didn't want a tight end at 13.

And the guards weren't on the board at 13.

i would have MUCH rather them taken Eifert at 13 then some DT who doesn't fit the scheme and probably won't even be a starter opening day.

big swing and a miss this first round. welcome to the bottom of the league for the next 3-5 years.

EDIT: the guy supposedly has maturity and coach-ability issues. looks like a great top 15 pick.

So you want medium offensive talent over a good defensive player.?

richardson isn't even the best DT that was available. he doesn't fit the scheme. he isn't a proven college player. so yes, i'd rather have taken Eifert, even Geno Smith before i took this guy. hell, JARVIS JONES was on the board!

if they wanted to pick a DL at 13, they should have taken Star. at least he can play NT.

Which scheme? Idzik may be drafting with no idea who will be coaching in 2014 so just taking his BPA.

We passed on Warmack. He is projected to be outstanding. And Eifert is supposed to be good.

A great TE is akin to a #1 WR in today's NFL. But that is actually part of the point....Rex has us in the '80s.

isn't it obvious after that first round that Rex will be coaching this team for the foreseeable future?

Do the names Kyle Brady and Dustin Keller mean anything to you?

Plus OL is not a major need IMO. They have Austin Howard who was good last year, they have Willie Colon. All they need to do is draft somebody later.

I am 99% sure that they will go offensive in the second round.

If they don't then I will be upset.

+1. Lots of upside. More value than Eifert there. It's no guaranty we are a 3-4 team next April.

Exactly. I don't love the picks (CB was too deep a position to take one so high, especially a guy so injury prone... and with Floyd and Latulolei the top two DTs we take the third guy?) but I like the thinking. You can't take a TE in the first round when you have so many other holes elsewhere. DL is so much more important of a position. We still need multiple LBs, multiple OL, another WR, a couple of S's... but this is a decent start. Could've been better (after all, these are the Jets)... but decent.

Not for nothing but its been reported that the jets love Ertz. So if Austin was picked and you feel you can get great value w/ Ertz then go for a different position
