We signed Dawan Landry, right? Pretty sure he'll be starting at one of the Safety spots.

Every team shuttles in lineman all around. I'm not concerned if Richardson doesn't start. But with Garay, Ellis, Harrison and Richardson, we have a nice group on our interior line.

they wouldn't have picked richardson if he wasn't an imediate starter in the 46 package

That’s my question, if Geno is there at 39 do we take him. I get what you do not want, but what is smart for the Jets and the fact that you are bringing to light, negative or not, is saying it may be an enticing option at 39? I cannot help but think that you have to weigh the options.

i think idzik is doing right by this team by sticking to the board even if it is defense, in the long run talent wins..

    RE- 1st rounder
    NT- 3rd rounder
    NG- 1st rounder
    LE- 1st rounder
    Mike- 2nd rounder
    Will- 3rd rounder
OLB- Former 1st rounder / **player to be drafted**
    CB- 1st rounder, 1st rounder, 1st rounder
    S- 6th rounder/ **player to be drafted**

At the two "player to be drafted" slots, we currently have Barnes (former 4th) and Landry (former 5th).

That's one HECK of an amount of high draft picks. This had better be FORMIDABLE, or Rex deserves to be fired, given his reputation as a defensive mastermind.

And yet I look at safety and all I can see is a big weakness that opposing TE's will continue to exploit.

At 6-6 and 300 lbs, Muhammed Wilkerson is anything but a 4-3 DE. People act like these players are chess pieces that can line up anywhere. Wilkerson does not have the speed to play 4-3 DE and by most accounts, Coples is a bad fit there as well - so we could run a 4-3 Defense with 4 tackles - does not solve the pass rush problem.

    Coples - Wilkerson - Richardson - Pace

Agree, and it's a bad idea to take a player who's excellent at his position, as Wilk is as a 3-4 end, and try to have him do something else most of the time. It's one thing to be multiple in your fronts and take advantage of versatility, but another to regularly play good players out of their position. The Richardson pick seems to guarantee either that will happen, or at least one of our past 3 top picks will be off the field a lot.

QB - Mark Sanchez - It can't get any worse can it ?
RB - Mike Goodson - More speed and better pass catching ability
TE - Jeff Cumberland - Same as last yr
WR - Stephen Hill - 2nd yr pro
WR - Santonio Holmes - Huge Question Mark
WR - Jeremy Kerley - Same as last yr
LT - Brick Ferguson - Same as last yr
    LG - Huge Question mark
C - Nick Mangold - Same as last yr
RG - Colon - who knows
RT - Austin Howard - 2nd yr starter

The way i see it, we need a starting LG to step up, a WR to put Holmes on the bench. Most Importantly we need the QB of this team to make the plays that present themselves. I believe we will run the ball, we just need a Leader for this offense.

    The Candidates
    Mark Sanchez
    Tim Tebow
    Greg Mcelroy
    David Garrard
    Matt Simms
    Draft Pick

Boy do we need a QB.
