    D'Brick Restructured...Hello Geno?

Sooo...D'Brick restructured today freeing up like $5 million and change in cap savings. The cap hit if Mark Sanchez is cut? $4.3 million. Coincidence?

Would rather have Geno (or any QB we take in this draft) sit for a year, even if its behind Sanchez/Garrard.

Well it's certainly all anyone can talk about this afternoon. I wonder if they will give him extra money and an extension for having his fee-fee's hurt.

Yahoo reports the Jets cleared $5.1 million in cap space by restructuring D'Brickashaw Ferguson's contract #nyj
The exact amount that D'Brick freed up. If they draft Geno/Nassib/Whomever they are better off getting rid of Sanchez and save the rookie from having to deal with it.

    Oh and Tebow too.

If we take a QB in the 2nd round Sanchez AND Tebow will be cut in June.

This is how it went down with Pennington and the Favre deal. We snuck Chaddycakes out the back door when Favre was brought in.

If the Jets draft a QB high in Round 2 you can almost bet that Sanchez never even sees the inside of the Atlantic Health Center again.

"Hey D'Brick, it's John Idzik....Hey, how about we restructure you so that you have a different QB to protect this year?"

Now that they created the extra cap room with the DBrick restructure $5.1 million) and cutting Tebow prior to June 1st would save another $1.5 million why would you wait till June 1st to cut Tebow or Sanchez? That only pushes more money to next years cap. I would rather get it all done this year. The more money we have next off season the better.

If true that is big. Pretty much means Sanchez is gone and Moore is likely back. I would be thrilled.

I have to ask; with no clear-cut franchise QB in the draft, a dearth of quality FA QBs available and numerous holes in positions like the OL, TE, LB and S (the last 2 seemingly forever), what is to be gained in wasting a pick on a QB and cutting Sanchez?

    +1

Can be cut now and designated as a June 1st cut

I would think it's so his boy Brandon Moore is resigned

Means we don't reach for a lineman, rather we have time to groom a kid
