    It's not that easy

The Jets can't cut Sanchez, $17M hit. If they cut him with 6/1 designation, he'd count $12.4M on '13 cap, $4.8M next yr. Currently, $12.9M

No reason to cut Sanchez at all. Competition,. no more handing the job to anyone. See Seattle last year. Camp starts and the best guy between sanchez, geno and garrard starts. The days of just handing a draft pick the keys should be over.

I'm not even advocating that Geno starts from day 1.

Let Garrard start for a year

Weirder things have happened than Mark Sanchez randomly becoming good. I mean it won't happen, but since they don't gain anything from cutting him cap-wise they'll keep him and give him a fair shot.

Cant cut Sanchez, but you can bury him at third string

Garrard starts, Geno backs him up and starts when he's ready, Sanchez holds clipboards. Tebow presumably wins a Grey Cup or two.

Cut Sanchez June 1st. Take the cap hit and move on. No point in him being on the roster, he will be booed the second he steps out on the field if Rex was stupid enough to actually put him out there

If Garrard is healthy, Suckchez will NOT be a Jet. You think they will pay him 8.2 mil to hold a clipboard and tach a kid QB sulking 101?

12.4 mil wasted cap hit to hold a clipboard for another team, not happening. He'll be on the team and the fan base will be divided but instead of the 50/50 last year with Tebow it will be 80/20 this year with fans clamoring for Geno.

Results will be the same. Still no weapons. Get a WR and a RB. Holmes blows, we have no RB and TE is who? Should have taken Woods, Ertz or Lacy.

Are you serious? How dumb will that be!! Why should the jets take the cap hit when Sanchez, if he fails this season, can just be cut next year without any cap hit?

So it's an extra $4.5 this year or an extra $4.8m next year. I don't know why they keep saying they can't cut him because it's too expensive.

The Jets are now considering the possibility of releasing Sanchez, per @AdamSchefter. And -- get this -- maybe Tim Tebow stays. #Jets
