35% of all NFL starters at HB are 4th round and under. Find me another position with that many besides guard.

    Good try.

Your terrible point was you trying to tell me that you need a top 60 pick to land a solid HB, even though the player we just traded for wasn't even DRAFTED. hahaha

In any event it's huge leap forward from what we had at the position last season.

It was a trio of JAGs
    -Greene
    -Powell
    -McKnight
This was a bottom tier group.

We're now in the top half with potential for top 1/3.

Hopefully he will overcome some of the minor injuries, but he does have a lot of upside.

6 out of 32=35%? Your avatar says college safety. What college is that exactly with those mathamatic skills?

That wasn't my point, I even acknowledged(3 separate times now) that there are 6 starting RB's in the NFL that are low round or undrafted, but it's actually the opposite of what you try to portray it as. Those 6 are the exception, not the rule. The rule is the 20 or so starters that were 1st or 2nd round picks. I had no point to make other than that you were throwing out stats that didn't exist to support your personal preference.

Was hoping it was only a 5th

But the way RB's started to come off the board in the 2nd and 3rd rd like Bernard, Ball, Lacy, Michael, and Davis. A 4th is real good value for a bruiser like Ivory.

Since you obviously like statistics, how about giving me your take on these:

Out of 468 players taken in round 4 since 1999, 44 of them have started for 3 seasons or more.
Out of 468 players taken in round 4 since 1999, 20 of them have started for 5 seasons or more.
Out of 468 players taken in round 4 since 1999, 2 of them have started for 7 seasons or more.

So there's a less than 10% chance that a 4th round pick starts for 3 seasons or more. Would you say we have a less than 10% chance of Ivory being our RB for the next three seasons?

And still 3 picks to go

    Idzik is owning this b*tch!
I have to say that initially I was upset with our first two picks but the geno smith and ivory trade has me feeling a little better

More and more I like the direction and with 3 more picks to fill us out on offense with a TE and maybe a WR and OLB......good stuff

    Ivory = Proven NFL success
Rookie RB drafted 4th round or later = crapshoot

It really boils down to that. Also, I think it's realistic that we compete when he's no older than 26 or 27.

Ivory is better than any RB in the draft.
