S- Phillip Thomas (Fresno State)
Who we hoping for-
Personally I'm hoping for Da'Rick Rogers - WR who is falling for character/intelligence issues.
He's a Brandon Marshall type of story I believe. For a 5th rounder let's roll the dice!
S- Phillip Thomas (Fresno State)
Quinton Patton or Jesse Williams
Denard Robinson for me
Does Cobi Hamilton remind anyone else of Cotchery? Good hands, good route runner, productive. I want him or Dernard
Yeah, thought he would go to Washington, he visited them a few times and got attention from them. Surprising he never did with the Jets considering Tim Mcdonald (Jets DB coach) was his Defensive Coordinator in Fresno.
Quinton Patton
Height: 6-0 | Weight: 204 | 40-Time: 4.53
Quinton Patton | Louisiana Tech Bulldogs
Strengths:
• Good height with the frame to bulk up further
• Smooth natural athlete with very quick feet
• Reliable hands to snatch balls away from body
• Nice ball skills as well as excellent body control
• Is shifty, creative and elusive following the catch
• Shows ability to get off of the line of scrimmage
• Decent awareness and instincts for the game
• Active with a good motor and solid intangibles
• Tough and gives respectable effort as blocker
Weaknesses:
• Lacks top speed / burst and doesn't separate
• Not very explosive and isn't a vertical threat
• Tendency to round off routes and needs polish
• Too often failed to execute the difficult catches
• Not particularly physical and must get stronger
• Didn't make an impact as return man in college
Injury History:
• Suffered a sprained ankle in 2011
Notes:
A two-year starter for the Bulldogs --- Spent three years at Coffeyville Community College in Kansas, where he also saw extensive action as a punter --- Named a 2nd Team All-American by the Associated Press in 2012 --- Named 1st Team All-WAC in 2011 and 2012 --- Returned 8 punts for a 3.4 yard average and 1 kick for a 15.4 yard average during two years at La Tech --- Made national news prior to Poinsettia Bowl in 2011 for giving one of his bowl gifts ($300 gift card to Best Buy) to a kid from the Make-A-Wish Foundation --- Most likely profiles as more of a secondary option at the next level but possesses adequate physical tools and should at the very least contribute in a complimentary role.
David Bass / Michael Buchanan / Brandon Jenkins-OLB
Aaron Melette / Rodney Smith-WR
Nick Kasa-TE
Love Andre Ellington also....not sure we need a RB anymore
Do we have a Punter?
Maybe Jeff Locke from UCLA in the 6th...
If he is there it would guess cornelius washington
Chris Harper WR from Kansas. Great possession receiver.
Showed something in the Fiesta Bowl.
Patton, Swope (i like the fit esp with Geno), Tony Jefferson (S, Oklahoma),
Patton/Rogers, Washington/McCray, Rambo if they are available.
Go BPA at one of the positions of needs. I don't care if they go offense or defense but I hope they pick a WR/TE or OLB/FS. Still a ton of good players available.
Have a strongggg feeling that there is a run on WR.
Time to add a pass-rusher - Cornelius Washington or Brandon Jenkins if one of them is there.
Otherwise, best receiver (WR - Patton, Rogers, Cobi Hamilton, Swope, Denard Robinson - or TE - Toilolo, Kasa, Fauria) on the board.
