    Geno Smith vs. Pat White

Which one of you experts can compare the two and convince me that Geno won't become the next Pat White...both from WVU, both somewhat highly touted, both very successful at WVU...I am getting kind of worried here.

Is Geno the next Pat White?

Played for two different coaches in two different offenses.

    This

Pat White was an athlete playing QB

Geno is a pure pocket passer with the ability to use his legs if need be.

This. Pat White was never considered 1st round talent. He was actually a reach in the 2nd. Going into that draft Nate Davis and Painter where like the 4th and 5th ranked guys. Neither where thought to be 2nd rounders.

Geno Smith isn't a midget. That's the biggest difference between them. Pat White was actually a pretty good thrower himself, he was just really small. I don't even know if he weighed 200 lbs.

    My bad.

Just spoke with my WVU grad buddy (typical 6 year plan) and he said just that "Pat White=runner, Geno Smith=passer with a cannon arm"

    Sorry.

I think Pat White is closer to Denard Robinson

sounds like a Sanchez fan needing a way to attack Geno. If the op really cared he;'d look at video of the two palyers. geno is far more accomplished as a passer with the ability to run when needed. White did not have that trait!

Two different offenses and coaches. Besides the school I see no comparison.

Geno was said to be the only NFL ready QB in this draft with a 72% completion. Geno is quick and quick release.

Pat White was a 4.5 40 yd dash and 6'0" 195lbs who was elusive Mike Vick type ie., before being hospitalized in a head to head collision. Miami dumped him.

Geno is a pocket passer who fits our WCO best. Time will tell for him but he has a completely different style with high accuracy/completion ratio.

That's what I noticed, the guy has a hell of an arm and he really threads the needle nicely...gotta like that.

If we give Geno some time to throw he'll be a really good QB for us but if we throw him in there before he's ready and can't protect him, he will be ruined just like Sanchez was. Sanchez is shell shocked beyond repair...lol
