Overall, a solid, no-nonsense draft. We will understand better the tone and intention of this management when we see how they resolve/don't resolve the Sanchez mess. Only then can this team really move on.

That would be a godsend if we could actually yield SIX starters from this draft. That would be incredible. But it does seem possible.

Milliner will certainly, at the very least, start in the slot.

    Richardson will certainly start.

Geno Smith will be the starting QB on opening day.

Brian Winters will start due to really nobody else to plug in. Hopefully he can handle it.

    Aboushi? Same as Winters.

TBoh could possibly steal the FB spot away. Really not a lot of competition there.

I think 5. But either way, if they actually play well, that's a great draft.

I hope not. Look what happened to Sanchez. What's the rush?

I understand the point you guys are making but there are plenty of other QBs that played from Week 1 as rookie and worked through the growing pains and developed. Plus, Mark was better earlier in his career so it doesn't really add up. I just think Sanchez was never going to be a franchise QB.

You are right in my opinion. GENO is a student of the game. He surely would have been drafted high last year too. He is more talented then Russel Wilson and Wilson started for the teaM our GM just came from.

Geno will have a mentor in Garrard and a desire to compete in Ny and win the job. Mark had the job handed to him from day 1.

Everyone learns at a different pace. Maybe that was Mark's downfall. I do recall in his first game, a preseason game with Baltimore, he had the deer in the headlight look then and I don't blame him. I think that was unfair to him. I don't recall him every playing well against the Ravens.

The Jets Get An "A" from the Houston Chronicle

    http://blog.chron.com/ultimatetexans...-draft-grades/

    AFC East

    Buffalo Bills: D

Analysis: Manuel was the biggest reach of the first round. They could have gotten him in the second. Woods should start as a rookie. Goodwin ran in the 4.2s at the combine, but he needs a lot of work. Alonso was underrated and could start as a rookie.

    Rd. No. Player Pos. College
1 16 EJ Manuel QB Florida St.
2 41 Robert Woods WR USC
2 46 Kiko Alonso LB Oregon
3 78 Marquise Goodwin WR Texas
    4 105 Duke Williams S Nevada
5 143 Jonathan Meeks DB Clemson
    6 177 Dustin Hopkins K Florida St.
7 222 Chris Gragg TE Arkansas

    Miami Dolphins: B

Analysis: They traded up to get the third pick and used it on Jordan. They drafted him because they want him to apply consistent pressure on Tom Brady. Taylor might be good enough to start from Day 1 and replace Sean Smith. Thomas was an underrated prospect.

    Rd. No. Player Pos. College
1 3 Dion Jordan DE Oregon
2 54 Jamar Taylor CB Boise St.
3 77 Dallas Thomas OT Tennessee
3 93 Will Davis CB Utah St.
4 104 Jelani Jenkins LB Flroida
4 106 Dion Sims TE Michigan St.
5 164 Mike Gillislee RB Florida
    5 166 Caleb Sturgis K Florida
    7 250 Don Jones S Arkansas St.

    New England Patriots: C

Analysis: Bill Belichick traded out of the first round. His first pick, Collins, has terrific speed and quickness and could become a dynamic pass rusher off the edge. They reached for Dobson, but Tom Brady should make them look smart. Watch Boyce produce more.

    Rd. No. Player Pos. College
2 52 Jamie Collins LB So. Miss
2 59 Aaron Dobson WR Marshall
3 83 Logan Ryan CB Rutgers
    3 91 Duron Harmon S Rutgers
4 102 Josh Boyce WR TCU
7 226 Michael Buchannan DE Illinois
7 235 Steve Beauharnais LB Rutgers

    New York Jets: A

Analysis: They got lucky Milliner fell to them. If hes healthy, hell replace Darrelle Revis. Richardson is a splendid inside player. Smith was a steal in the second round. Its going to be hard to keep him out of the lineup. Winters could start right away.

    Rd. No. Player Pos. College
1 9 Dee Milliner CB Alabama
1 13 Sheldon Richardson DT Missouri
2 39 Geno Smith QB West Virginia
    3 72 Brian Winters G Kent St.
5 141 Oday Aboushi OT Virginia
    6 178 William Campbell G Michigan
7 215 Tommy Bohanon FB Wake Forest

Wow this seems like one of the least biased draft analyses I've seen. Bottom line, we came away with 4-5 starters, great value, and added depth and quality to our trenches.

Love the plan that's in place right now, I just hope we're still active in free agency, and draft possibly a bit more need based next year in addressing OLB safety and TE at some point early. Maybe fulfill one thru a big FA move next offseason.

    Great draft tho

All he had to do was beat out Clemens after Favre retired for the 10th time before he came back for the Vikes..

I tend to agree with you. But really the bottom line is that Geno Smith is clearly the best on the roster. He may have to start out of necessity. I see no earthly reason to start Sanchez when we know his days are numbered. Heard on ESPN that Smith was told by MM that the starting job is his to lose.

If we have 5 starters right away from this draft, then it is a slam dunk.
To think that it could be 6??
    Wow!
I am happy and very excited and I can't wait for July.

Fox Sports actually got it right:

    http://msn.foxsports.com/topics/devi...ets-grade.htm#

Jets ranked 8th overall in defense 2nd in pass defense. Ranked 30th in offense but stilll remain without dominant offense skill players.

The fish rots from the top but you can't cut the owner.

Dont' forget RB Ivory. Not all have to start, just contribute and be a valued pick, opposed to last year when wwe cut players we drafted.

Maine, you just listed 6 and didn't even include Ivory. That would make 7
