Didn't Greenburgh slaughter him yesterday for the way they "treated" Tebow? Why would they even agree to on this show?

What will be hilarious is Greenburg "sucking up" to Idzik when he's on. He
won't have the guts to say anything to his face. No one in the media ever
    will

    Because he's a man.

Men don't run and hide because someone said something mean about them.

Of course not. Izdik is patient like a tortoise. Silly rabbits know the turtle always wins.

Caught the tail end of the interview. Nothing groundbreaking.

Tannenbaum would always say "its a process" and Idzik's favorite line when discussing positions "it's a competition"

"We look at free agency as a need-based operation, we look at the draft as a talent-based operation."

Most important bit that came out of this interview. Whether you agree with that approach or not is up for discussion, but there is Idzik's vision in a nutshell.

Agree, that was good insight into his philosophy. And you can of course argue either way, but when you consider the fact that the draft is predominantly a crapshoot while FA is related to known quantities, it's hard to argue the logic behind his thought process.

Now it's just a matter of seeing results.

and 10 minutes was MORE than enough of having to listen to the Tim Tebow Sports Network and sports talk radio in general

I wonder if ESPN (Disney) will try to get an expansion team in LA just
so they could give Tebow a shot at being a QB. Knowing these clowns
I wouldn't put it past them

    terrific idea, actually

since he can't actually play football, his best role for the Los Angeles NFLers would be as a mascot dressed up in one of those neat fuzzy suits, maybe on an ATV like the Phanatic

    Exactly.

On Friday morning, people were saying that our two picks in the first round were "good players, but terrible picks."

The draft is not about filling needs. The draft is about bringing in the best young players that you can. That's how the Steelers and Giants view the draft. And everyone on this site wants us to draft like them (myself included).

So with that in mind, if both picks are good players, then they cannot be terrible picks. Adding good players, even at positions where you are strong, is never a bad thing.

Idzik obviously understands this. Unfortunately many of the morons who pollute this site do not.

Exactly what Izdik said. Draft is a 'talent based' operation. Free Agency is a 'need based' operation.

Makes sense. Now the NFL should switch the order of the two.
