For some reason I never had a problem with these as much but in all cases I could see where someone could be bothered. IMO I dont get to say to someone who is still suffering "you should just over it."

At the end of the day I dont spend to much time trying to find ways to insult or bother other folks there is quite frankly to much fun to be had IMO in treating each other well ....

Finally are our lives so small that we cant find ways to be kinder to each other, again just my opinion. Nothing wrong with fun though...

Hence the smile after my post.

The problem, IMO, is not the imagery. Sports team use "funny", i.e. "insulting to some" imagery for almost all races, groups and ethnicities.

Drunk Irishmen. Rampaging and Pillaging Norsemen. Sterotypical Steelworkers.

For me, it's the name. "Redskins".

Thats just wrong. And it needs to go away, asap, even via court order if need be.

The rest, I can live with the rest. Others might not, but I can.

The simple challenge for Christians is their inability to impose their religious beliefs in the United States.

I have no problem with folks being gay. I'm not gay, but have friends who are. It is what it is, but more important this country gives them the right to be free. The Constitution really does affirm their rights, and as time goes on more and more people side with their freedoms than they do the religious restrictions. I'm not religious, so I just don't really care.

It seems for many they just realize it's their civic responsibility to deal with it, whether they like it or not. There's been a long term history of religious law based legislation that flies in the face of the Constitution for gay people, just as it has for African Americans and other minorities throughout our history.

It's absolutely OK to believe that gay member of the team is living in sin. It's OK to believe he's completely wrong. It's OK to tell him that if you're a teammate. It's not ok to Ostracize him or adversely affect the workplace. It's his right to be free, and you and your religious beliefs have to deal.

Just don't watch or obsess on it. You know, treat it like porn.

I'm sure Indians have no problem with it. They live in India right next door to Pakistan. Native Americans, on the other hand, might not be so happy.

And yes, Cleveland should absolutely change their name. As I just showed above, the term Indian isn't even correct, as it was meant to refer to the people of India (Columbus landed here but though he landed there, and for this he gets a day named after him). KC I'm not sure about, as Chiefs is not a derogatory insult.

Despite your almost obsessive under appreciation of Curtis Martin, you seem like a smart guy, Savage. Surely you can see the difference between Chiefs and Redskins.

This. The "Chiefs" are like the "Senators."

    "Redskins" doesn't have an equivalent.

Could you imagine if there were teams called the "Darkies" or the "Yellow Men"?

There'd be an uproar. The only reason why the Redskins still have their name is because there are so few Native Americans.

An alternative solution would be the one proposed by Tony Kornheiser a few years ago. Keep the name and change the logo to a potato. Still the Washington Redskins, and no longer offensive to anyone.

I have no problem with gays...it's their right to live that lifestyle....as for the ten commandments....those words were written by men....the truth is only GOD can judge any of us.

You can believe in your own god but to force the christian religion to accept change their entire beliefs of over thousands of years is just as tyrannic as not allowing gays to be married in the first place

    Speaking of political correctness...

I just heard recently that new FBI agents in training have their manuals completely blacked out of ANY mention to things like, "Islamic Extremist" or "Jihad" because it's now considered racist to refer to a muslim as that if you turn out to be wrong.

How the hell are we supposed to protect our own country when political correctness has gone awry the way it has?

In fact, they won't even give FBI agents such training to deal with or be prepared in the event of a "jihadist" event in our country.

When did it happen that "AMERICAN CITIZENS" became a minority in our OWN country?

I wouldn't think the training is different, just the semantics. Is there context for your story? Though, generally, I'd agree with you

I heard it on Sean Hannity, take it for what it is worth to you.

But I would think there has to be some credence to it. Look at what the Obama administration did with Johar Tsarnaev. They gave him his miranda rights after only two days.

You tell me, WHAT harm could it have possibly done to hold him as an enemy combatant? To water board him in Cuba and try to gather as much intelligence as they can? Could it have possibly done ANYTHING bad to the investigation or eventual prosecution?

The Supreme court already stipulated that there are exceptions to mirandizing american citizens. They can be treated as enemy combatants for up to 30 days, if the gov't sees fit.

What part of the Tsarnaev's brothers actions could NOT be considered actions of an enemy combatant? Is there ANYTHING? They were radical jihadists that chose to try to kill and mame innocent american citizens.

It would have done absolutely no harm whatsoever to treat Tsarnaev as an enemy combatant, mirandize him after 30 days of "intelligence gathering" and then put him to death. He's obviously guilty. We all know it. He was caught on surveillance images for christ sake. It's an open and shut case. A slam dunk, if you will.

But instead the Obama administration in their "politically correct" ways insisted on mirandizing him and bringing him through the civilian court system. To prove what point? That the civilian court system actually works? We all know that. NO ONE denies that.

But now that he's been mirandized, he was assigned a lawyer and you know what happens after that. he was automatically given the order to STFU and speak ONLY to his lawyer. Now the FBI and CIA and whoever else will NO additional intelligence to keep americans safer in the future.

That's just one example of many I could point out. It's political correctness to the point of stupidity.

You've got a little militia group going up there. AMIRITE?

    we attack Ogunquit at dawn.

(By the way....we can't really interrogate and then put to death American citizens without this littlething called a "trial"...even if its obvious he did it, its a bummer but those are the rules)
