    Are you serious with this?

You can look at Geno's "body language" and determine the type of person and football player he is?

btw. People fire agents all the time - there's nothing new or wrong about it. He didn't "diss" him. He decided they weren't a good fit for one another.

    It makes no sense.
It all started with Jason Cole from Yahoo sports he was a writer for the Miami Herald covering the Dolphins for 15 years he has always been a huge dolphins homer and goes out of his way to bash the jets.Think about what he started with his unnamed NFL executives and scouts he got the ball rolling. He was on a Miami radio station slamming the Geno pick the day after the draft. Then the article comes out and he accomplished exactly what he intended to do ,put pressure on Geno and get in this young kids head and keep the Jets looking like a Circus.

They chose Smith just to see if they could get lucky at the QB position before next years draft. If Smith actually could beat out Sanchez and Garrard in camp and actually put up a season like Wilson or Luck or RG3 did then they've got their QB and can concentrate on other areas next year. If not, then things remain as they were going into this draft, which is 2014 is the year for a QB.

They're rolling the dice on this kid. If he comes through then it's a score, if he doesn't then they burned a 2nd rounder and they'll fix the problem next year.

This certainly isn't the first instance of hearing Smith has an attitude problem. Is it being blown out of proportion? Probably (hopefully). But fact is there are a TON of "talented" QBs who never made it in this league and this guy needs to know it.

Personally, I'm glad these stories are coming out. They're either going to be a wake-up call to the guy, to make him go out of his way to prove how wrong they are, or a warning to the rest of us to not get our hopes up . . .
Couldn't agree more. We're likely to find out what the guy is made of very quickly.

None of this is Jets related.

All of this is coming out because reporters are digging for reasons why a guy who was the consensus best QB available and projected to go in the Top 10 fell to the 2nd round. And he didn't just fall to the 2nd round, he was taken with the 9th pick of the 2nd round.

Teams had a day to trade up for that first pick and take him but no one did. We were confident enough that no one wanted him that we were willing to sit back and let him fall to us. This was after seeing someone jump ahead of us to take Tavon Austin in round 1.

The question being thrown around newsroom is: What the **** happened here?

So now you will have every negative opinion that can be found on Geno Smith printed and broadcast over the next few weeks.

If you read it, it's fair warning from Smith; he needs to heed. It's very early though...except for Talking Heads.

Just want to point out that Farve was not the most bubbling personality either. Funny how none of this "stuff " came out before he was drafted by the Jets. Geno is the 39th pick in the second round of the new rookie salary cap era. For a team with so many questions at QB, the Jets would have been insane not to take a flyer on the kid. After all, most of the folks who are now questioning the pick are many of the same ones who not three week earlier were projecting this kid as the only QB who should be taken in the first round.
Personalities don't win football games skills and smarts do,that should be a teams first priority. Geno is young and still developing maybe as he settles in he lets his guard down more around the guys in the locker room.
Face it, Mark was a great personality great around his teammates all mugging for the media, how did that work out for us
Bottom line here is Jets get an affordable one year rental to evaluate the kid and judge if he is the ONE moving forward
If not we are in excellent shape pick wise next year to make a run at one of the many good QB's coming out, in what many agree is going to be a very good QB draft class, win, win for the NY Jets if you ask me

Nonsense! I'll quote the poster, Winstonbiggs again:

"Does anyone really care if Geno is dumb, arrogant or has bad taste in clothes or agents? The Jets built their one SB around a drunk QB. The Giants built 2 SB teams around a coke addict at LB.

If the guy can show up and play I couldn't care less about his brains, arrogance or anything else."
