blah blah blah its all bull****
Thank God we didn't trade up or take this guy in the first round. I believe every word of this article.
Personally I think that this is why Idzik fired our scouts.
Not only did they not realize that he frequently checks his cellular telephone, but they also failed to realize THAT HE'S FROM FLORIDA - AND PROBABLY LIKES WARM WEATHER BETTER THAN COLD WEATHER. Think of the implications this will have for football at Metlife in December!
All of this alleged immaturity and poor interviewing is meaningless if the guy can get it done on the field. Period.
If his agents did not properly prepare him for a "job interview" type setting, then they deserve to be fired. Simple as that. After falling out of the first round, the former West Virginia star threatened to leave the draft and go home. He dropped to the second round and responded by firing his agents, sparking another firestorm of criticism.
"He's going to have a tough time in New York," said an NFC scout, speaking on the condition of anonymity. "Right now, he's coming off as a spoiled, pampered brat."
Leading into the draft, word spread that Smith was preoccupied with his cell phone during pre-draft visits, texting friends and checking Twitter during meetings with team officials, as first reported by Yahoo! Sports.
In the NFL, a team visit is akin to a job interview. An aloof prospect is a major turn off.
I honestly hope he dropped from top 5 to 39 because he was looking at his texts during a visit.
If it's honestly not a talent issue but simply one of a kid having to learn how to mature a bit - it's more of a steal than ever!!!!
Guys, take 5 minutes, go on newyourkjets.com and watch the geno smith interview. Or go on youtube and watch geno with Gruden.
This is a smart, humble, and dedicate guy who loves the game. A diva attitude is the last thing you see. Trent Dilfer runs a camp every year and he says Geno was the most prepared and dedicated guy there. This whole thing is bull ****. If anything, Geno is a bit of an introvert, so he can come off a little weird.
Thank God we didn't trade up or take this guy in the first round. I believe every word of this article.[/QUOT
maybe the teams geno met with he had no desire to play for.. Anyone would be thankful to play in NFL but would you be thrilled to play/live somewhere for possible 10-12 years you had no desire to? Because if your a good qb teams wont let you ever get to FA.. If remember Eli pretty much said he didn't want to play in SD, why they traded him to giants.. It appears Geno really wanted to play here which is why he made a very goo impression with izdik during his visit.. Sure Geno thought Jets would pick him at 9 or 13, but maybe Izdik got the vibe teams weren't going to pick him in the 1st, great move waiting..
The guy fire his agents then all this nonsense comes up about him. It's hilarious when one reporter writes a story and all the rest copy it. Great reporting Rich.
That'll be a good article to pull out in 4 or 5 years time

Why even play?
Get him an unlimited text plan, and give him the clip board.
According to all the expert beat writers, who get things right once a year, he's a lost cause.
Geno, sorry for wasting your time.
Notice lately how one writer broaches a subject negatively about any Jet and it followed the next day or two by five or six other writers piling on and repeating the same thing. The days of the professional sports writer are dead and gone ,replaced by a bunch of attention whores. I'm sorry about that last sentence, that is giving hard working whores a bad name.

There's probably not a lot else to do in Buffalo but check your phone....likely checking when the next flight out is
