Could you imagine THIS in 2014?

walterfootball.com always runs an early mock draft for the following season.

As of now, they have us picking 1-2 and 2-34 for next season (they have the Raiders picking first overall).
    Here are our two picks
    1-2: Jadeveon Clowney, DE
    2-34: Brandon Coleman, WR

    COULD YOU IMAGINE?

Pretty much this. We won 6 games last year with Sanchez being awful and no one to replace him (this year we have garrard/Geno as options) and we played with Revis for most of last year. No to mention Holmes should be back. And of course no more Tebow circus to distract everyone. Not to mention we will always, under Rex, have a great defense.

Not making the case for the Jets to win13 games but to suggest that we will finish with the 2nd worst record is retarded.

Of course, i wouldn't mind landing Clowney.

I think the team is good enough to avoid the #1 pick

Realistically the Jets will probably be drafting in the 8-10 range. Marqise Lee or Austin Seferian-Jenkins would be outstanding.

I think the Jets are pretty much just as likely to have the 31st pick as having the 2nd pick. Maybe not quite, but I see a team that with steady qb play (garrard) and a strongish defense can compete and be in the wildcard discussion the last few weeks of the season. Pretty much the same as last year but maybe slightly better.

I remember seeing something like this a year or 2 ago that had the dolphins picking 1st overall in the next years draft. We were the team to rip on at the time. Funny how much just a 7-9 year can change things.

I would also suck to get to the playoffs every single year with zero to show for it....unless it has a * beside it for cheating.

You're just jealous. How many times do we have to win the draft Superbowl before you guys get it? We know our priorities.

No way the Raiders wouldn't take Clowney with the 1st pick.

Your sarcasm is noted and funny. In some cases though, you need to suck for a few years to really improve the talent.

If the Raiders have the #1 pick next year, it's hard to imagine that the Raiders would consider Matt Flynn to be a long term solution. Again, it's hard ot know what will change over the course of the year (Matt Barkley was consensus #1 QB in April 2012, RGIII wasn't a consideration in April 2011) but I can't believe that the Raiders would not pick a consensus #1 QB in the draft.

Even if they could get someone like Clowney. As great as Clowney is, you HAVE to take a QB with Bridgewater's pedigree when your #1 QB is 29, just "led" the team to #1 pick, and is 5 seasons (again, this assumes 1. Bridgewater shows the improvement necessary this season and 2. The Raiders have the #1 pick)

The only teams that wouldn't draft Bridgewater #1 are Ravens, Steelers, Colts, Redskins (assuming RGIII doesn't have a major injury), Packers, Falcons, Saints, and Seahawks.

Of course the Pats wouldn't be #1 overall (or the Giants, or 49ers) but I think all those teams would take Bridgewater over Clowney

    Exactly...

Rex's defense gets the team 6 wins at minimum.

This is a stretch, but the question is, do you draft Lawrence Taylor/Reggie White or do you draft Matt Ryan/Ben Roethlisberger.

Seems silly, but it's a lot closer than you think. The value of drafting a "good - very good" QB with a 10% chance of being a HOFer is so much higher than drafting a "Great to exceptional" DE with a 50% (obviously a wild guess) chance of being a HOFer.

That reminds me of Ham saying Reggie Bush was the best college RB of the last 25 years..
