[QUOTE=FF2®;4886969]Yeah, wouldn't it be great I didn't suck every year
The jets are learning a whole new offense and you don't think there going to be a learning curve there. You're looking at least two years till you see results . So again you might have improved on paper but you might be a worse offense this year than last year.
Again that is my opinion and you're allowed to have your own opinion on this subject. Time will tell who was right.
Case in Point Raiders Dc Jason Tarver probably has the highest IQ out of all the Dc in the league. What does that have to do with football and running a defense. ( this isn't jeopardy) LEt see no one will ever mistake Rex Ryan for a rocket scientist, but he has proven year after year that he one of the best Dc around and Tarver hasn't proven anything yet.

No IF There is a franchise Qb there you have to take him because that franchise Qb trumps a stud DE. Qb is just a more important position that can determine success or failure of a franchise .( see Tom Brady)
A GM passes On a franchise Qb for J Clowney he probably getting fired . Only way if that franchise Qb bombs like Jamarcus Russell , does he come out looking good.
There are MANY ways a team could be in a position in the 2014 draft to take one of the 3/4 QB's that are touted to go in the first round. It all depends on the team. If Tampa picked Clowney over a QB, that is one thing, but if for whatever reason a dozen other picked a QB over Clowney, that would would be foolish.
Gotta love the arrogance of the media. We had a less talented team last season with Suckchez self-destructing on a weekly basis and Tebowmania on the sideline distracting the entire team and CS yet won 6 games. Now with a better roster and improved options at QB somehow we're looking at 0-16.
I AM GONNA LOVE WATCHING THESE IDIOT ASSCLOWNS IN THE MEDIA SH*T THEMSELVES WHEN WE MAKE THE PLAYOFFS!
No one is passing on Clowney, no matter what......It is essentially a death sentence for the career of any GM that passes on him if the player they take over him isn't a great player, nevermind bust
If for some reason we ended up at #1 we would have to take Clowney.....We have our QB of the future right now, even if he struggles next season (if he even plays)
Clowney should undoubtedly be BPA in 2014. Doesn't necessarily mean a rebuilding team in need of a franchise QB will take him.
IF you find that Qb( Geno Smith comes off the bench and has very good season than obviously your going to look in a different direction. If Geno Smith doesn't play and than you have to draft the top Qb if he's there. Have to make sure you get that franchise Qb. Than you look to trade Geno Smith at some point to recoup your investment.
BTW There is a difference between a franchise Qb and a first round QB.
The Jets couldn't admit there mistake and kept Mark Sanchez when it obviously he was one of the worst Qb year after year he was in the NFl. They drafted him as their franchise Qb and By Golly he going to be that QB.
If Geno Smith doesn't prove by next season that he can be that Qb than your almost forced to taking another QB the following year .( if you think he is a franchise Qb).
Geno SmiTh dropped to the second round for a reason and just because you used a second round pick on him means he guaranteed to be the Qb of the future. That's silly.
Can't name one Giant ST coach in the last 30 years, and I live in Giant country.

Raiders have had the premier punter and kicker in the NFl and their special teams unit have been atrocious. It all comes down to coaching. How many Jet games were changed by a special team play( a big return). So you can dismiss their importance but they can win you or lose a game or two.
If Geno Smith doesn't turn out to be the guy, than oh well.....On to the next one in a couple years. Gotta add the most talent possible and let Geno get his shot for a few seasons
There is no guarantee Bridgewater will be a better player
I can damn near guarantee that Clowney will be a terror off the edge barring injury of course
