Malone was our team MVP last year. He was the only guy who showed up each week.

Interesting note- I saw that earlier this offsesason, the Vikes had signed TJ Conley (the punter who got beat out by Malone) but released him after drafting a punter- guess they're convinced the kid they drafted will be their punter of the future?? Although they had a ton of draft picks.

Malone played great last season. Really solidified the punting position. No need to replace him at all.

I remember Westoff marveling at his hang time, giving special teams guys time to get down the field and make a play. That doesn't seem to be a stat but it sure should be.

I'll take Malone. He was the better kicker last year and did it outside all year, not in a dome for 8 games.

Jets already finding competition for Malone. Alex Dunnachie, fourth year punter from University of Hawaii and originally from Australia, is trying out for the Jets. I'd pass on Kluwe; he was an average punter last year.
