Question Looking for another SUV, *****es....

    POSSIBLY

Mind you I don't have Bmw 3-series or Yukon Denail type of dolers lying around...and I'm certainly not out to impress people I don't know (or care about).

But I have some specific models in mind and was wondering if anyone had any feedback on them (positive or negative)

    Toyota Highlander
Toyota FJ Cruiser (completely impractical but I love these)
Subaru Tribeca (brother in law works for Subaru otherwise this probably wouldn't be on the list)
Subaru Crosstek (too small, but love these too)
Toyota 4Runner (the new redesign is kinda hideous though)
Honda Pilot (see above, anyone know if these are due for a facelift?)

Definitely looking mid-size SUV, would prefer something a little smaller but need something larger for overpacking on vacations, etc.

Editorial note: How I anticipate this thread going:

Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland... I love this truck and it's getting decent mileage.

I like the look of the Pilot these days...

Gas mileage is for **** though, like most larger SUVs

Of the ones you listed the Honda Pilot is the best vehicle but it is also the ugliest. You should also check out the Santa Fe.

If you are feeling patriotic the GMC Acadia is nice. Comes in a Denali version. Poor man's Yukon Denali .

One of our good family friends have a pilot. The gas mileage is great compared to other SUVs.

Personally, the next car I'm getting a Ford Raptor.

Can't look at Jeeps anymore, had a Cherokee that was a total lemon, will never buy a Jeep again.

I think they are tweaking the design for 2014, but I don't think its going to be drastic. (concept below)

Probably the only US model I'd consider, except maybe the Ford Explorer.
I think the recently redid the Acadia and Im not a fan of the new look tho.

I have a Ford Edge for the family and its such a nice car. Handles/drives like a car, good Mileage and lots of features. My lease is up in 18 months and considering getting another one.

Btw at what point would you be able to get a dealer to buy back a Lease and get a new car?

I agree here. I have the Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland. Perfect midsize SUV for the money. My wife drives the BMW X3 - a little smaller SUV.

My fiancee just got a GMC Terrain. Pretty nice midsize SUV (actually I think they classify it as a crossover). To be honest, it's one of the few SUV's that, in my opinion, is actually nice looking.

    Subaru Forester

the 2014s are available with variable transmission that allows it to get 32 MPG highway up from the 25-28 on the 2013

    extremely reliable and dependable

add it to your list to consider

My friend has one, and they are a lot bigger than they used to be - another plus is that my brother in law works for them and can surely get me a great deal - problem is I'd need the cargo room that the Tribeca has, but Im not sold on it, looks wise.

Pretty much can't go wrong with anything Subaru puts out, as far as reliability & weather handling is concerned.

My wife had an Acura RDX (Honda CRV) but with the third kid coming in September, she needs a bigger one with a 3rd row. Two (annoying) caveats: No minivan and had to have 2nd row bucket seats. We got a Buick Enclave last month and it's freakin awesome.
