This movie, and the Tom Hardy movie "Bronson" are similar in that we'll never see either guy put into a role where they are that challenged again.
Both, great performances.
Hardy was great in both Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy and the highly underrated (and under-viewed) Warrior. After seeing Lawless I do think he needs to step out of the brooding tough guy role that film makers seem to have pigeon holed him in. I still haven't checked out the Batman film, so not sure how he did as Bane, but given the fact he has a mask covering his face much of the time I could see how his performance might have been compromised.
