kerley can get open and catch. he's a quality wr and would get time on many nfl teams.

He would get time, same way Cotchery got time. Let's face it, we haven't drafted a truly quality WR since Moss and Coles.

i disagree on kerley. he was a good 5th round pick and has proven he can get it done in the nfl. he's not big and he's not a burner but he can catch and get first downs. the problem, if there is a problem with him, is that he's the jets best wr. if the jets draft a true #1 wr next year and put a real TE and kerley on the field that would be just fine.

Sanchez had 457 attempts last year - if he was even halfway decent and completed 62% that would be about 35 more completions of which Kerley would have had about 15 more, putting him around 70 catches and close to 1000 yards which is excellent for a WR with little other offensive help who was coming off a TC injury.

He has good hands, is explosive after the catch and should really take another leap forward this season. Definitely a player I cant wait to see play with a QB like Geno and an OC like MM.
    Definitely.
Again, this has nothing to do with QB bashing (from my standpoint), im simply afraid we arent using him to his potential and Kerley will get lost in the incapability of the Jets Offense only to reemerge with another team.

Please Marty, have a plan for this guy, and dont let him fall by the waste side.

Sounds silly, but i like the passion he plays with on the field too. I think the Jets have been lacking that as of late.

He is a small target. More like some NFL teams.

He was a good 5th round pick, no knock on that at all. I just think we tend to overrate some of our guys for some reason. Cotch left and everyone was up in arms about how we lost some sort of gem. He's been buried in PIT. Chris Baker went to the Pats and eveyrbody screamed. He stunk there and was out of the league shortly after. Hell I remember people thinking Victor Hobson was good, and were devastated when we cut him. Dude didn't even make another NFL roster.

You're right, it is a problem that Kerley was the best WR on our team. He may still be depending on Holmes health. That's an enormous problem when you realize that Kerley should be a 3rd to 5th guy, if even on the roster at all.

kerley did fine w/o holmes last year. the problem was that he was the main threat. he is a good slot wr and can also return punts. ideally the jets get a true #1 wr next year and a good TE. then the 3rd and 4th wrs can really do damage with a qb who can get them the ball.

Would be great to get a little of Brian Mitchell out of him.

Doubt if we can outbid or will want to outbid other teams for him but i like him as a player a lot. He is a big play guy that can score from a distance and has had very good games against some of the best teams in the league just from memory.

I would pass on Cribbs. He will be 30 next month and really hasnt been a productive WR. He hasnt had more than 41 receptions in any season, and has been a kick return specialist for most of his career.

It is very likely he is coming in because his price dropped. He is an older guy and was trying to get what Wes got. No one is going to pay that price. Ted Ginn Jr who is a comparable talent signed for under 2 mil I think. If he gets 3 years 9 mil I'd say that is good.

This guy's price can't be that high. I haven't heard his name since James Harrison turned his brain into overcooked ramen.

Agreed. He has only one return TD in the last 3 seasons, and has 107 career receptions in 8 seasons. Not the direction the Jets need to go.

What i have learned so far this off-season is that idzik is not getting into bidding wars for players. Way too many teams involved for the jets to have a chance.

Next year when we have some more cap flexibility we should be able to land a couple of big name free agents.

    BINGO!!!!

And Kerley was also one of the few WRs for the Jets to consistently run the correct routes last year. I know many out here dont think that is a big deal but I do!!!

IMO how anyone out here can think that somehow Sanchez is somehow holding Kerley back from being say Megatron is beyond me....

    Well said!

Gates route running is terrible. He better stop rounding his routes off or he is gone..Hopefully Gates works at it and Lal can get through to him because he has talent

Kerley is the type of mid round pick who make teams better.

you need guys that can catch the ball, What has Barden ever done but grow up tall?

You got Hill at 6-5 already,
