Also, check how many times Sanchez went 9 for 11, or 11 for 15 in 7 on 7s last year, it happened a lot. Means little until the pads are on and a real defense is in front of him.

He competed 37% of his passes in last year's mini-camp, for what it's worth.

So when mini camp rolls around we will see what Geno does against actual NFL players.

Absolutely! We got our boy from a rescue organization here in Oklahoma. I'd recommend a boxer for any family with kids. He's very protective and sits guard over the kids when they are playing, even though he's a lover not a fighter.

Just to put things in a little perspective here is a quote from Sanchez's rookie camp.

"Sanchez made quite a first impression. He displayed the ability to make all the throws, completing 19 of 31 passes with one interception in seven-on-seven drills, and 6-of-8 in 11-on-11 drills. He was especially sharp throwing the deep-out pattern that dogged Chad Pennington for years. He threw tight spirals and was accurate. He showed traits of being a natural born leader, constantly encouraging his teammates"

Fair enough. I was talking about in recent years, and in particular last year, when he stunk up the joint in mini-camp.

Its almost disheartening to read that article. Can fellow jets fans imagine the time when we weren't a laughing stock and everything we did was respected almost and we were given the benefit of the doubt? I can, and I'm only 21. Man how quickly things can change with 2 bad seasons and one epic butt fumble

    Dave Hutchinson.

"Following practice, Ryan learned why the offense operated so smoothly. Rookie quarterback Mark Sanchez -- drafted with the No. 5 overall pick last weekend -- had called an impromptu meeting with the offense to review the plays. He then went to his hotel room and practiced calling plays in the mirror.

"That's kind of impressive," Ryan said between workouts. "That's the kind of young man we brought in here."

he definitely marketed himself much better than smith did. it can get you drafted higher but in the end it won't make you a better player.

    Thanks for the post!!!

IMO what has happened is that folks; some folks out here have created a narrative surrounding Sanchez that doesnt make sense but then even when faced with the facts about their delusion they cling to it rather then alertering their myopic sense of reality!!!

Rex said he's been disappointed in Quinton Coples, especially in the weight room. #nyj

Zach Rogers, WR from Tennessee, stood out to Rex today as did Mason Robinson of Rutgers. #nyj

Rex raving about Sheldon Richardson #nyj

Richardson said he played nose and 3 technique today. Thinks he'll be heavy enough to handle the nose if need be. #nyj

Ryan went on to say, "Because Marks is so wonderful, we'll let the offensive talent around him decay to the point where we're starting a turnstile at tackle and using backup CFL wide receivers for him to throw to....Don't worry, he'll be fine. I'm drafting defense early again. Now let's get a gawdamn snack!"

Typical rookie BS, talked about how much the rookies all need to still learn etc...BUT he make a quick comment about Couples having a bad day in the weight room yesterday. So GUESS WHO follows up with a question about that?? DICKKKK SEMEN!! Unreal, dude just loves to stir the pot!! Douche!! I bet my paycheck within the hour he will either tweet about it, or write an entire article about Q's one bad day in the weight room!

Surprised that he's commenting on Coples at a rookie camp.

Eh just some motivation. Did the same thing to Kerley last year and Kerley had a really good year.

    Created a narrative about Sanchez?

Because we have a book of 4 NFL seasons of less than mediocre play?

That's all whipped out buy one or two comical...given what we know today...throw away lines by Dave Hutchinson?

Hey, this is a smart move by Rex. You see, the term "bust" can only be used so many times in newspaper article. Maybe Rex is trying to throw the media off of Geno's trail and teeing up a "Coples may prove to be a bust" article from the media. Just wait, Ducasse gets his tomorrow!
