Exactly. In today's NFL the young guys play. Unless he crashes and burns, Geno will start. Garrard serves the role of mentor, but it's better off having Garrard as the pair of eyes on the sideline, calming Geno down and explaining things to him during the game.

I'd be shocked if Geno isn't the starter Week 1. That would be going against the NFL mold.

I hear the play book is real thick. Geno might say all the right things but still it's going to take time to internalize all that info. 3-5 games is better than zero games. Besides I think if Garrard wins the start we'll all be pleasantly surprised on his upside (while he lasts).

Disagree with the notion that Geno has to play to learn.

Garrard will look better in preseason and will start week 1. And thats ok. Make geno earn it - he needs to. The first 5-6 games this year is a rough stretch.

    It's mind boggling.
Stop blaming the O line, Mark was in the bottom half of the league in getting hit.

Just as with whoever actually believes hand size has anything to do with fumbling. It's all technique and protecting the ball.

Sanchez just has never learned to eat the ball or just throw it away and live for another pass. He's just not very smart on the field.

Unfortunately for Sanchez and his fans, Mark will never, ever be allowed to start for this team. No matter what he does, outside of injuries to others, no one will let him play for this team again.

It would send the wrong message throughout the locker room, one that no HC or FO wants.
