    Pure Beauty

Im surprised that nobody has mentioned it, but the new 1 World Trade Center is a beautiful piece of architecture. While it will never be the same as the Twin towers, its beautiful in its own right.

I just so happened to be passing trough the city on the very day it became the tallest building in NY.

Was really nice to see. I can't wait to see it finished!

It is indeed a beautiful piece of architecture, but frankly it took way too long. This building should be open right now, filled with shops and businesses and teeming with people. The fact that it's still under construction is a disgrace.

    Better late than never.

I agree it should have been done 4 or 5 years ago but unfortunately lots of extenuating circumstances and bureaucracy to go through.

    Just glad it's finally built.

Also glad they dumped that lame "Freedom Tower" name and gave it back it's 1 WTC name.

While it is a beautiful piece of architecture, it's also a beautiful piece of engineering. Lets not forget the fine men and women working behind the scenes to make this thing a reality. Mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and structural engineers make this architectural idea work.

I work at 3 WFC right next door & have a great view of it from our conference room...

Paulie is right, it took way too long- The Raccoon Lodge used to be packed at lunchtime with construction workers getting hammered- the NY Post blew the lid off that party & now there are NYC inspectors checking out all the bars during the day..

The concrete contractor who built the job is one of my clients (collavino)...he brought me up to 104. Pretty amazing walking on the steps with only a netting between you and death lol. I have some pics that I will upload later.
