If they can get to the All Star Break around 500, they can make a second half run as people get healthy. Vernon Wells has really cooled off, you don't know just how healthy Tex is with the wrist. Team is coming back to what they are, but I thought they would be 5 games under 500 by now.

Luckily the Yankees are starting to get some of their stars back. BTW, Ramiro Pena is hitting .325 with a .382 OBP and is probably one of the best defensive in-fielders in baseball. Girardi and Cashman didn't give this kid the time of day when he was here.

They have done an awful job developing day to day players. But that's part of the problem with all the long term deals they have. Until this year, there has been no chance to develope an infielder.

7 strikeouts in 9 at bats so far.

Yanks plan to DFA Overbay today.

Let's revisit that in about a month.

Is this true? I know Cashman said he had some tough decisions to make but this would be stupid.

Maybe Overbay refused to go to the minors.

Not official yet, but they keep saying it's unlikely they'll thin out the bullpen and want to keep an extra shortstop around. I guess it doesn't matter that Overbay had more big hits in April and May than Tex has in the past 2 years.

Better get used to your 1st baseman popping out with a man on 3rd and less than 2 outs every time.

I was at the game where Tex got his last big hit. 2009 ALDS Game 2. It's been a while.

Reverse jinx? Hope so. Tex with the salami and Yanks figure out there's no way they can dump Overbay (so they start him in right!)

Meh. I'll trade the slam for a thousand-hopper in the post season with RISP.

I don't think I've ever heard a GM talk about his own player like this.

Livid over Alex Rodriguez's decision to tweet an update on his rehab process, Yankees general manager Brian Cashman had a message for the third baseman.

"You know what, when the Yankees want to announce something, [we will]," Cashman told ESPN New York. "Alex should just shut the f--- up. That's it. I'm going to call Alex now."

I think aroid is a douche, but I don't think he did anything wrong with that tweet. Cashman is a bigger douche IMO. He really isn't that good of a GM. For ****s sake, I could build a playoff team with that much money.

I bet that you could build a great team as a GM Jetsfan from the Burgh!
Maybe replace the GM that is not too bright with you! Fans know better!

Are you guys starting to get worried about the season yet? The Yankees are gonna need reinforcements soon or their season is gonna start to look like a typical Mets season.
