Sheldon Richardson and Quinton Coples at olb ? any thoughts

since richardson can play standing is good in coverage athletic and play olb in college at times why not put him at olb our starting depht would look like this

    OLB-RICHARDSON/BARNES
    MLB-HARRIS/DAVIS
    MLB-DAVIS/PACE
    OLB-QUOPLES/PACE

    DE-WILKERSON
NT-ELLIS /NEED TO ADD MORE DEPTH FOR SUBS AT DL..
    DE-GARAY

    CB-MILLINER
    SS-LANDRY
FS-KYLE WILSON OR WOODSON /GET HIM OF FA
    CB-CROMARTIE

THIS WOULD BE ULTIMATE SOLID DEFENSE

on paper it doesn't sound that crazy... richardson is huge but he's probably faster than calvin pace. that said you don't want to get too cute with the defensive alignment and richardson is clearly better off developing at the 3 & 5 tech

lol Richardson is no OLB.....even at mizzou he was all over the line...he is a d lineman....the jets have in no way spoken about him playing OLB....there is a reason for that. I think Rex and Dennis T knows what they are doing in regards to defense.

It one thing to drop back to a Will a couple times a game as zone blitz. But to play him as an olb, To chase Vereen, Spiller or Miller to the edge or cover any of them in the flat? Never mind having both 290 lb guys back there. By 30 snaps comes around they will be keeled over.

Rex is already not happy with Coples WO regimen with him running out of gas in space will not be pretty. I know Mario Williams played OLB for one year but they did not drop him unless it was a stunt, you can't have both your OLBs not able to run with backs, and don't give 40 times, look at 60 yard shuttles and 3 cones to get an idea.

Garay at DE? all you are doing is playing a bunch a guys who are good at thier positions, playing other positions.

Kyle Wilson is a man on corner and you want him playing FS, When has this guy ever played in a zone? high school

Again you would be pretty good stopping the run but why would anyone even try when they can just throw all day on that defense. I asked this say question a million times already what Lb do you have that is going to be effective in coverage.
Offenses by throwing all over that defense would force the Jets to change the personnel real quick. So I don't believe it practical to even talk about that defensive lineup as it wouldn't be that effective.

he made some sideline plays...he has a nutty motor but to put him at OLB...I don't see it. the fact that the jets will install multiple fronts (keep in mind Richardson was also at the nose) means he can wreak havoc all over the line. We will see how coples does at LB ad keep in mind barnes will also be rushing/
