Steve Tisch: Jets may have cost Tebow his career

    By Ohm Youngmisuk | ESPNNewYork.com

New York Giants co-owner Steve Tisch says Tim Tebow would have been better off playing anywhere but with the New York Jets.

Tisch told TMZ he thinks Tebow, who was released last month, might still be playing if the Jets had not traded for him in March 2012.

Tebow threw 14 passes in a preseason game against the Giants, but he attempted just eight passes during the regular season. "I feel badly for the guy," Tisch said Sunday night in Los Angeles when stopped by TMZ as he was getting into his car. "Had another team picked him up after the Broncos, maybe he'd have a career. I think him going from the Broncos to the Jets was not in anybody's best interest."

Tebow attempted a total of eight passes and played sparingly with the Jets last season. The Jets never seemed to know how to use Tebow, who managed to consistently made headlines and back pages.

The Giants - players and owners - were amused with how Tebow garnered all the media attention in training camp last year while the Giants were the defending Super Bowl champions.

Less than a year later, Tebow is looking to get back in the NFL.

"I do feel badly for him," Tisch said. "I hope he plays football. I think he's got talent and I think he is probably a decent guy and not a bad quarterback. I sincerely wish him all the best."
LOL. It's the Jets fault that Tebow's career is likely ruined per co-owner of Giants.

Folks... it doesn't get much dumber.

Disagree. Tebow, and his greed/power lust, cost him his career. We were just dopes for signing the JAG-minus.

2 teams in the league were interested in tebow. The 2nd team wanted him as their 3rd quarterback. When the broncos didn't want him he was already running out of chances. The jets were the only team willing to give him a real shot and he couldn't break the lineup due to not being able to best anyone out in practice. Tim tebow is the only player in the league that everyone just expects someone to give him a job without earning it. He didn't earn it on the fied.

I seriously can't wait until Tebow is playing ball in Canada so his cultist freak fans and the goofs in the media will quit talking about him.

I've never seen such infatuation with a guy whose pro talent is so questionable.

It's f*cking weird to say the least.

If Woody said that Francesca and the rest of the NY media would be having a field day.

Everyone's responding to the biased thread title and not the actual quote.

I think him going from the Broncos to the Jets was not in anybody's best interest."
Nobody with a brain would dispute that. The Jets and Tebow were a bad fit.

Not counting Namath, I'd say Vinny T. and that's it.

Elway claims he gave Tebow the choice of NY or the Jags and he chose us for non football reasons. His ego/lack of talent can be blamed

So why didn't the Giants pick him up? What a dummy.
