The New York Jets claimed free-agent wide receiver Marcus Davis off waivers from the New York Giants and released wide receiver Antavious Wilson on Tuesday.
Davis was released by the Giants on Sunday after the team's rookie minicamp. He was undrafted out of Virginia Tech after catching 105 passes for 1,827 yards and 13 touchdowns in four collegiate season, including a team-leading 51 receptions for 953 yards and five TDs last year.
Wilson also was passed over in the 2013 draft and signed with the Jets as a free agent. At Marshall, Wilson had 69 career receptions for 741 yards and nine touchdowns.
I like that we're going for potential, and quantity. This guy probably will not be good, but if just a couple of these low risk, high ceiling guys work out it will be well worth all the rocks we looked under.
