Yes, and what an amazing coincidence that coincides with him starting to work out and test the knee and learn if it's in working order.

Presumably they arranged the contract to take something like this into account, and there will be no financial penalty to the Jets? They had to know him being healthy was a total long shot.

I truly hope that Garrard had the sense to tell the Jets this news first before he went and ran his mouth to a reporter.

Sad news. I hoped he would be able to compete for the starting job.

So, it's more likely just between Geno and the Buttfumble.

    Bah.

Geno's pocket awareness and mobility (and possibly arm strength) will win over MM and the starting job.

I want the Jets to be able to manage the information so that the foolish media wont run amuck as before.

I love Garrard and actually wanted him on the team three years ago...

I actually think it's the best thing that could have happened to the qb mess. I hope Sanchez can rebound at least to some degree. As it stands now he has exactly 0 trade value. It would be nice to get at least a second day draft pick for him @ some point.

I would like to bring in Kyle Orton.

Slants, outs and quick release....this is the MM formula I think

Would a 4th rd round pick be too much? Will it get it done??

To justify this....I cant imagine Sanchez opening at home against Revis and the Bucks ...I just cant see the FO take such a risk to furteher alienate the fan base.

Orton can start, Eugene can learn, Orton can backup and menor later on

Please tell me how you find this

Remember that one.... that was a real belly laugh!!!!

I'd be on the phone with the Eagles seeing what they'd want for Foles.. If that's too much, I look into Kolb. Both guys have had success under Mornhenwieg and would provide an alternative in case they dont think Geno is ready.

To those of you who complained when we drafted a QB:

Tanny would have been caught with his pants down but not Idzik. He has been building with depth in mind and that is something we sorely missed during Tanny's reign. To become a good team, you must have depth.

That said, we need to sign an experienced QB, and it's slim pickings. It will be interesting to see what Idzik does now.

Garrard was washed up anyway. That said: SOJ.

Maybe Sanchez straight up for one of those.

It was a real shame that Tarvaris Jackson chose to re-sign with the Bills before FA started, as I think Idzik would have liked to bring him in as a cheap veteran guy.

Still could happen though - since he re-signed, the Bills have signed Kolb and drafted Manuel in the first round, so it's not impossible that Jackson could end up cut at some point before the season. If that happens, I could see Idzik pouncing on a guy he knows to add a viable veteran option.

Good. Geno VS Sanchez. Who ever is best in camp and preseason wins. McElroy #3. Simple as that. GENO TIME!
