Garrard is done, has been done.

Sanchez is not going anywhere, yet.

He might win the starting job.

Sanchez-Smith-McElroy is your Week 1 depth chart.
It would be funny to see McElroy out play them all!

Anyone who knows anything about David garrard knows he was not going to make it through camp anyways. No news here.

didn't he know his knee wasn't holding up the past few months? the timing is peculiar, as it's right after geno's minicamp.

Not a big deal. He was only there to help develop our QBs. The coaches can provide the necessary Guidance.

Mark Sanchez is now in play and will probably start .

Hindsight nothing...drafting GENO in the 2nd round was a great pick regardless.

    Here's what's left, courtesy of NFL.com:

    Batch, Charlie

    Edwards, Trent

    Hoyer, Brian

    Leftwich, Byron

    Leinart, Matt

    Palmer, Jordan

    Tanney, Alex

    Tebow, Tim

    Thigpen, Tyler

    Wilson, John Parker

    Vince Young

Personally, I'd probably go with Leftwich. But having Leinart on the same team as Sanchez would certainly be a hoot.

Post New Story: QB Garrard to leave Jets

FLORHAM PARK, NJ - In a surprising QB twist, JetsInsider.com has learned that veteran QB David Garrard, who the Jets picked up this off-season to compete for the starting job is leaving the team.

According to SNY's Adam Schein, Garrard texted him this afternoon saying his surgically repaired knee was not holding up and he will be leaving the team.

Garrard, who hasn't played in the NFL since 2010 tried a comeback last season with the Miami Dolphins but that ended in camp when he injured his knee and needed arthroscopic surgery. Garrard has also had back surgery to repair herniated discs.

    This...

Charlie Donovan: Most of these guys never had a prime.

Board Member 2: This guy here is dead!

    nice

Charlie Donovan: How would you like to manage the Indians this year?

Lou Brown: Gee, I don't know...

Charlie Donovan: What do you mean, you don't know? This is your chance to manage in the big leagues.

Lou Brown: Let me get back to you, will ya, Charlie? I got a guy on the other line asking about some white walls.

I guess this shouldn't come as that big a surprise when you sign a 35-year old QB who has missed the last two years with injuries.

I'd say Trent Edwards or ByronLeftwich are the best of that sorry lot. I would have liked to get Kevin Kolb or Fitzpatrick, but they are both getting $3-4M per year if they start.

This is what I thought would happen all along.

    Not really, that's just speculation.

Wish him the best. Time to move on.

Yeah he decided to retire from the nfl and give up $1.35 million because Geno made some nice throws in rookie mini-camp
