Thread: NY Jets' Mt. Rushmore

    NY Jets' Mt. Rushmore

This offseason PFT has been doing a series asking fans to name their favorite franchise's "Mt. Rushmore" candidates. Today they started taking submissions for the Oilers/Titans which has made me realize how hard it is to pick just four (especially if one is apt to include owner and AFL founding father Bud Adams)

Who are the likely candidates for the Jets?

    Namath
    Klecko

It's tough to pick just four.

FWIW: I went with Adams, Moon, Campbell, Bethea

    Namath, Namath, Namath and Namath.

    Namath, Klecko, Maynard, TBD.

    EDIT: TBD is Martin

Moon and Campbell for sure. I would put Matthews in there as well. I'm not sure of a 4th

    Jets: Namath, Maynard, Martin, Ewbank

Chrebet has to be considered. Even though he doesnt have hall of fame numbers he is a fan favorite and the ultimate underdog.

    Maybe Namath, Klecko, Martin, Chrebet.

I think in a way you have to think about guys that the entire league what know not just Jets fans.

Curtis Martin, Joe Klecko or Wayne Chrebet - take your pick.

I like Chrebet as much as the next guy but he was never even an all-pro, let alone hall of famer. Underdog story isn't enough to get on the the NYJ Mount Rushmore.

    Namath (HOF)
    Martin (HOF)
    Klecko (Should be HOF)
    Maynard (HOF)

To me it's a no brainer that it's these four...

Klecko and Hill should be in the Hall of Fame

Honest question, why are so many of you leaving out Curtis Martin?

He was a great Jet, always played hard - never really hurt, good teammate, and went to the HOF.

Because he disappeared in big games. A bit of a compiler.

No one else is worthy. Curtis Martin and Bill Parcells are mercenaries.
