ESPN is laying off a large number of employees on Tuesday, according to report from Deadspin. A source told the website that the amount of layoffs could be in the hundreds.

ESPN issued a statement on the layoffs, via Richard Deitsch of Sports Illustrated.

"We are implementing changes across the company to enhance our continued growth while smartly managing costs. While difficult, we are confident that it will make us more competitive, innovative and productive."
James Andrew Miller, co-author of "Those Guys Have All The Fun," and John Ourand of Sports Business Journal also tweeted about the layoffs.

An America company laying off 10% of it's workforce. Yeah, that's something to be cheering on.

Please let Cimini be one of them.

ESPN has become too large. They need to scale back. Every show is a variation of Sports Center. Too many channels, too many radio stations and too many websites.

Good. Close down that out-dated sh1t hole. What, no one figured out that blasting music behind sports highlights, whilst two uncharismatic tools sit behind
a desk is passé? Hello? It's not 1993.

The fact that he was actually re-elected tells you all you need to know about the state of this nation - economy included.

Preaching to the choir brother. As an owner of a REAL MADE IN THE USA manufacturing company, this country's situation is bad. Wait until the stock market has its "correction" as my finance guy likes to call it.
