Reason #101 why the Raiders are better than the Jets.

I'm sure 90210 will drop by shortly to remind us.

    LOL

Raiders to the SB !! An appearance would be good enough, asking for a win would be too much.

The one thing the Ray duhs have had going for them over the years is their punting game.

    Who signed Lechler?

So I figure he's kicking that about 80 yards since he's on the 30 and kicking into the end zone. Looks good on tape but if he outkicks his coverage, it's bad.

5.5 seconds on an 80 yard punt is not what you want. Strong leg, no doubt but there's more to it than what he's doing on that clip.

this is like QBs in OTA's

I want it in a game with a full rush.

Plus accuracy is a big factor in punting. Is he accurate? Im sure that there are plenty of punters that can blast it in the league.

Also are long punt can turn into a long TD if he out kicks his coverage.

Its not just about how far it goes.

Raiders are the only team in NFL history to draft both a punter and kicker with a 1st rd pick..

Only team to draft BOTH?! Arent they the only team to draft either? I cant imagine anyone else would draft a kicker of any kind in the 1st.

Jets were crazy enough to take Nugent is the 2nd.

Are you playing semantics with me?? In their history they have used their first rd pick on a kicker and also on a punter.. Is that better for you??

    Yep. Ray Guy and Janikowski.

Saints and Cardinals also did (sort of) by drafting Russell Erxleben and Steve Little, respectively, to handle both kicking and punting duties. Needless to say, both picks were disasters.
