I really don't know who Liberace was. I mean, I know he was the ghey piano player, but I really don't know about the total depth of his career and popularity. Was he like a Vegas act or a serious musician? Was he really big back in the day?

Pats fans seem to have liked him a lot.

Hard to take a guy serious who was as flamboyant as Liberace, but he was a big star, particularly in Vegas, but also a regular on all the talk/variety shows of the day, like The Tonight Show, with Johnny Carson, Merv, Mike Douglas, etc. He lived lavishly in Vegas with things unique in the day like a pink Rolls, a piano shaped swimming pool and the like. And yes, the man could play.

He was a great musician but better known for his elaborate, outrageous stage show.

From 1950 - 1970 he was the highest paid entertainer in the world. Middle America ate up his schtick. And somehow didnt know he was teh ghey! Go figure.

Intersting note, he was Elton John's hero.

Because he taught him how to swallow a whole sausage. (minus the pauper)

And Leon Russell was Elton's musical hero.

Interesting note, he was Elton John's hero.

I watched The Mike Douglas Show almost every day after school, etc. Liberace was a frequent guest.

My favorite moment between the two was when Mike Douglas asked Liberace (whom he called "Lee") about his marital status. "Lee, how come
you never married?" To which Lee responded, "I just haven't found the right girl, Mike." Yeah, one with a 10 inch clit.

Here's a fun clip when Mike did his show from Vegas. Check out the size of Lou. Lee is salivating.

The Liberace character strikes me as what FF2 would be like.
