Thanks to this thread I am back with a treasured sansui g5000... picked up an old beauty on eBay (unfortunately UPS damaged in transit). It sounds fantastic with some old Bose bookshelves I tested on last night, I was too lazy to hook up to my Thiels. Can't wait for my new Klipsch bookshelves to pair with hopefully UPS doesn't destroy them.

Thanks WCO for making me spend money I had no intention of spending lol

    +1

Listening to VINYL (RIPS) of The Dead and a little Radiohead on some Marantz powered B&W's @ 24/96

I think, only people who grew up ALL analog and/or musicians are the only ones who can really hear the depth.
I would feel bad for a lot of the younger kids.....if they weren't so stupid

    haha

I don't miss the clicks and pops on records though

seems like back in the day, reel to reel was considered the sh*t. had a guy on my college dorm floor, smoking doobs and listening to dark side of the moon on his reel to reel was considered the ultimate.

Just remembered I had Cerwin Vega speakers from their "Eviction Notice Line"

The klipsch speakers arrived today (undamaged woohoo) sound fantastic paired with the g5000 right now. For convenience I got a pocket dock from sendstation and an iPod sounds pretty damn good hooked up through aux.

If any of you guys are getting the itch I highly recommend these klipsch RB-61 bookshelves which I believe are still available on eBay for 399 ...search for never connected klipsch... they are pristine and over $100 cheaper then new.

+1 Digital music is great for it's convenience, but I still pull out my old vinyl for the richness of the sound when the mood strikes me. Don't mind the pops and crackles in the least, but then again, I always babied my collection so they still mostly sound great.
