And wait. Ricky had a stress fracture and is in so much pain, it's unbearable, which suggests to me the guy couldn't play at that time. So why is it a bold decision to make him inactive?

    WTF?

Does Steiny write this stuff himself or does he let Sapp write it and thus just cut out the middleman?

Steiny is basically jetsrule128 with an audience.

Don't disagree at all. Just saying its so early, OTAs are so far removed from camp, games etc that we have to keep the optimism guarded.

Would it actually be just a little more objective to see what they can do in PADS and a full roster competing against?

This isn't flag football, there's a LONG way to go before we can actually start to even predict who will stick on the roster.
    +1

Any time you discuss 5 players at the bottom of the roster, 3-4 of them will be inactive, ps or gone. That doesn't mean that we can't show a little enthusiasm or look optimistically at these guys.

Reading the comments, the armchair GM's here would happily have cut Mike Devito or Wayne Chrebet.

Every year we have hopefuls. Every year most don't make it. Every year, 1 or 2 do. If we write them off in June, none will be there in September.

He has legit connects and alot players know and like him . Thats a little more than just and Audience. I seen more of our players talk him than they talk to our beat writers on twitter.

Especially this year with all the holes we have we could afford to find a serviceable gems.

    you're right.

but I meant more in the sense that he's always hyping up these fringe guys as the next superstar when they're barely fighting for a roster spot.

Lmao Steiny really was hyping Damarcus Ganaway last year as next big thing at WR. I dont think he even made it to training camp

Why does he refer to the players by their first names? Ricky, Quinton, Calvin, etc. "Jakey" is an annoying writer.

So you think he's so "connected" to the players.

Like Francessa does all the time.

Gee this is still America right? INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY! Have you ever heard that before? Unless you are willing to share your insider information, I will respectfully decline to agree with your statements.

Sapp's problem has been durability. The last 2 years he was hurt - in training camp/pre-season in 2011 and during the regular season last year.

If he can stay healthy for a whole season, I think he will surprise alot of people.

If Sapp gets hurt again this year, he is likely done.

Based on what? Other than we want it.

He's never played and produced anywhere.

We heard this about Westerman, who Sapp can only pray he plays like

I'm not gonna debate it with you, you are entitled to your opinion.

Steiny's problem is that he's so committed to Sapp and these other guys that logic goes right out the window in these blog posts. The Sapp entry literally makes no sense and shows zero critical thinking skills. What it does show, however, is man love for Ricky Sapp.

In my opinion, the only prospect in the article who has a realistic chance of becoming a legitimate contributor in this league is Hayden Smith.

It would be great if he puts it all together and becomes a diamond in the rough. We are very weak at the TE position, and if he's the real deal, it could provide a big boost to the overall effectiveness and production of the offense.
