    Well...

    1) The Patsies are an established team that made it to the AFC Championship with a HOF QB.

    2) They have won the division 9 out of the last 10 seasons.

    3) The Jets will be suffering through a rebuilding year, something that is not normally conducive to beating top teams in the AFC.

    4) The Patsies beat us the last 4 times we have faced them.

    5) The Jets lost to them by 30 points at home in our last meeting.

Do we have a chance? Yes, or course. Anything can happen, but that certainly doesn't mean it will. The likelihood is quite miniscule.

The running game & defense will win 4 games.

I'm only comfortable starting on the 1st month.

We easily can be 2-2 and possibly, if all goes right, 3-1 at this point

If so ... I can get onboard with the optimistic projections ... If we're 1-3 or 0-4 it will be a rough go

    Agreed.

I think we all see a brutal October and a relativley soft December.

What we do in Septemeber will go a long way in determining this teams final record.

Consistency is the name of the game.

Right, football isn't about optimism and pessimism, it's about what you have, and more importantly what you don't have.

I have come around to this line of thinking as well, I was in the cut bait with Sanchez camp earlier this year but considering the schedule, Gerrard, and landing Geno in the second round of the draft, I would be ok with Sanchez starting

Edit: I would prefer Geno was the clear winner in camp but agree this schedule is not an ideal way to develop a young QB

This schedule is conducive to one thing and one thing only ...

.... Getting T Bridgewater in next year's draft.

Hey I'll be psyched if he does ... I give that about a 30 percent chance.

    2-14

Jets beat New England twice, 70-0 and 67-3

    lol

I would sign up for that scenario right now. That's a best case scenario. 2 embarrassing losses for the Pats and we get to pick between Bridgewater and Clowney.

If our defense is as good as we're all hoping it should be competitive.
Great point on how this schedule increases the stakes for the Week 1 game

I think the Jets unknowns will help them in week 1 along with the Freeman circus but I also think Tampa could have a great secondary with Mark Barron (first round pick last year), Dashon Goldson (signed as a FA from the 49ers), Johnthan Banks (2nd round pick this year) and Revis (if healthy)

Jets should also have home field advantage, unless Sanchez is boo'd off the field

If I remember correctly, when Revis held out (Hard Knocks season) he came back into camp in pretty bad shape and was hurt early on. He certainly wasn't the same guy he was in that insane season the year before. I'm not buying into him being anywhere near 100% in week 1 yet. We'll learn more in training camp I guess.

On the other hand, since Revis covers WRs, and we don't seem to have any, is it really an issue either way?
