If Goody has any loyalty to any team in the NFL it would be the team that gave him his first job in the NFL, the New York Jets.

nice myth, old timer... about the 70th time you've thrown it out there to get bashed

    fact

Goodell had ONE major booster when the final voting was to take place to name a new commissioner to replace Tagliabue

    Kraft

and Kraft bullied, cajoled and called in every chit he had with the other owners to get his boy Goodell voted in

and it paid off handsomely for the old scumbag

spygate tapes destroyed immediately after wrist slap

and now a murder coverup to protect the Patriot Way bullsh1t

well worth that investment in buying the Commissioner

    fact
The real facts are that Goodell was born and raised in NY and was an intern with the NY Jets in 1983. Sorry if that doesn't fit your childish agenda.

Honestly the only "FACT" here is that this commissioner for reasons surpassing understanding decided to destroy the entire canon of evidence against the Patriots in the Spygate scandal when he could just as easily have sealed that evidence.

That is the only relevant fact in this case.

Why would the Commissioner of a league where all TV revenue is shared equally, revenue that is dependent on brands advertising, risk the entire leagues reputation to protect Kraft? This white wash by the Commissioner was done to put this behind the league and protect their single largest revenue pool. This decision benefited the financial standing of every NFL owner.

No doubt the Pats put it all at risk but I think it's complete BS to think the Commissioner wasn't acting in the collective owners best interest in killing this as quickly as possible. The Commissioner works for the owners. The players get suspended with or without cause because they are expendable.

I agree Goodell is a two faced POS when it comes to the perception of the league. Perception and integrity aren't the same things. The league is a huge money pile the perception of integrity is the key to brands backing it.

Yeah that's why he destroyed all the evidence when the jets got caught cheating

This is correct. All of the owners benefited from the Spygate decision but Kraft and the Patriots benefited way more than the other 31 teams. The league wanted nothing to do with the potential fallout from additional Arlen Specter investigations or any shining of external light sources into their private dirty little business. They needed all of it killed as quickly as possible.

We the fans were the ones who got hosed because covering up was the "right thing" for the league.

Is there a Shawshank Mean Machine team and do they have an opening for a pretty good tight end?

If Goodell could have controlled his own minions, I don't think he ever would have destroyed the tapes. But I don't think we're missing much. If there was anything out there juicier than sideline-play-scoreboard in an endless loop with an occasional cheerleader shot thrown in, Belichick never would have turned it over voluntarily.

    Yes.

Looks like the PD really wanted to get a shot of him in the cuffs. The Detectives were wearing their finest suits for the occasion. I thought AH attorney would have been able to negotiate a surrender if it ever came to it.

Do your celebration dance after scoring a TD against the Jets now, b!tch.

I have a different take on it AFCEastFan. At some point I think some enterprising player who suffered a serious injury against the Patriots during the admittedly short TEN YEAR period when they were doing this would eventually file a lawsuit against the Patriots and the league claiming that the injuries were caused by the other team knowing ahead of time what plays had been called. At that point all of the pertinent evidence would have been subject to subpoena and this would all have ended up in a courtroom somewhere.

As it probably should to be honest.

He can negotiate his own surrender in the prison shower later tonight.

Impossible. #Hernandezisinnocent is trending on Twitter.

    Ban for posting fake news?

There's way too much anti-Hispanic sentiment on this forum in the last 24 hours. Very disturbing.
