So there's a murder clause in the contract?

This has got to be something more severe than obstruction of justice. Based on how the arrest went down, not even allowed to properly dress himself, Patsies immediately releasing him?

I'll bet he's being charged at the very least with complicity.

Pats release Hernandez - Should Jets attempt to sign?

The Patriots moved as quickly as the police this morning.

The team just announced via Twitter that it released tight end Aaron Hernandez, shortly after he was led out of his house in handcuffs.

While there will be salary cap ramifications of this one from the contract extension they rewarded him with, the high ground was apparently worth it. The notion of the “Patriot Way” was routinely mocked in the wake of this investigation, and they apparently opted to not wait.

Very disappointed there wasn't a white Ford Bronco (or Audi Q7) chase thru the streets of Bristol.

Who would drive for him? Tebow? Brilliant signing if that's why Belli picked him up. Nobody would take a shot at the getaway car with Tebow at the wheel.

The New England Patriots have issued the following statement on the release of tight end Aaron Hernandez.
FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The New England Patriots have announced the release of tight end Aaron Hernandez following his arrest in the investigation of a homicide last week in North Attleboro, Mass.

The New England Patriots issued the following statement: “A young man was murdered last week and we extend our sympathies to the family and friends who mourn his loss. Words cannot express the disappointment we feel knowing that one of our players was arrested as a result of this investigation. We realize that law enforcement investigations into this matter are ongoing. We support their efforts and respect the process. At this time, we believe this transaction is simply the right thing to do.”

Patriots did the right thing here. I look forward to seeing clips Tebow trying -- and failing -- to run routes and catch balls during training camp.

I hope justice is served and Hernandez gets many, many years behind bars.

JC reading comprehension is not your best suit is it?

Reporters were OUT OF EARSHOT of what the cops were saying to AH as he was arrested at his front door.

The reporters lobbed several question to AH as he was being lead to a police car and he REMAINED SILENT.

THEN, a reporter was interviewed by Mike and Mike and they said that reporters were screaming several questions toward AH as he was being lead to the police car.

Please. Stop asking me questions dingbat

You have to figure that the Pats know more than the general public, at this time, and that is the main reason he has been released. I guess he will be charged for more than obstruction of justice

Wouldn't say that at all.. He obviously commited obstruction of justice by handing them his cell in pieces and destroying his sec system.. I'm sure that really ticked DA off that's why he wasn't allowed the cortesty to turn himself in.. Good for them.. Why would they do him a favor, more work for themselves to have to deal with media circus around court house would obviously need lot of officers for crowd/media control, "waiting" for this nitwit to surrender..they swept in stealth and quick with their middle finger up to Hernandez and his lawyer.. The murder investigation may take a while.. If Hernandez didnt do it I'm sure he will roll over on his friends for a plea for obstruction charge..
