Thread: Patriots* Aaron Hernandez questioned then charged with murder. MERGED

John, if a Vikings player gets involved in a murder investigation would you be suggesting Zygi Wilf has a hand in the state's involvement in the case? What if this happened in Jacksonville? Would Khan be considered an important player here due to business interests? They are both some of the biggest organizations in their respective states. No, but Kraft is a mobster in your eyes, so of course he has relevance in this (very sad) case.

Another deflection from the new chowd Phil Esposito

Spygate didn't happen in Jax or MN

    Tape destruction gate, nope

Coach tampering gate, not in those two feanchises

    Bimbogate, neither

    Nor Putingate

    And now certainly not MURDERgate

All those things happened under Bobby Kraft's Circus Bigtop.

Been away all weekend, and needed an update.

Has Hernandez killed anyone else since Friday?

Of course the other two greatest things are...

If the commissioner also happens to be on the payroll of the crime family, and...

Make sure all of the tapes get destroyed in case they decide to change Commissioner.

What a terrible example the League has set in this matter. How many of us would still have a job if in AH's situation? The Commish should travel to Boston to meet with AH to, at the very least, obtain an answer to the question: Why have you destroyed evidence related to a murder investigation? If AH refuses to provide an answer (which will undoubtedly be his response based on how he has handled this thing), he should be suspended indefinitely until such time that he will answer the question and/or pending the outcome of this matter.

Who knows with that gangster thug. However, probably unlikely given the fact he has been under police scrutiny the past few days.

But never-say-never. Afterall, AH is part of that mythical culture, aka., "the Patriot Way."

Huh?? What are you talking about....don't you know, according to the only NE troll (Ash) here defending AH, the Patriot Way, NE Pats, NFL, etc., the Pats and NFL are taking a "steadied" "calculated" approach to the AH situation. No need for them to rush into a decision. Afterall, only one person was killed. NE does things differently from the other 31 teams. They do it the "Patriot Way."

Come on Sonny. You should know better than to ask a silly question like that.

Remember when Namath was forced to sell his partnership in Bachelors 3 because some gamblers may have been customers?? Times have changed and the Pats lead the way..

The league can not suspend AH or discipline him until he is actually charged or convicted with some sort of crime. There is not a lawyer on earth that would tell AH to talk to the NFL about the circumstances while this investigation is going on, other than telling them he is innocent. Besides there really isnt anything penal in suspending him right now because he isnt being paid right now and there isnt any team activities going on right now.

Ben Roethlisberger was never charged with a crime but was still suspended 4 games. I think Goodell has shown with respect to player conduct that he will do whatever he wants if he feels it will 'protect the shield'.

Thats true, but they did so after the legal process played out a bit and the facts were more clear. My point was more that at this early stage of the investigation the NFL is better off seeing what plays out before handing out a suspension at this time.

That is not correct. Under the NFL's Behavior & Conduct Policy, the Commissioner has broad sweeping powers to invoke penalty or punishment as "HE" deems fit, irrespective of any pending legal matter. Goodell does not have to wait. Given the fact that it has already been established AH obstructed with justice in a murder investigation, it is very surprising that the Commissioner has not taken action yet. You can bet the rest of the NFL is closely watching so NE doesn't get favorable treatment as PFT reported the other day.

If you are wondering, there is precedent for Goodell -- Saints, Big Ben, etc. Here's hoping since that rogue organization (aka, the "Patriot Way") up in Mass won't act, the Commissioner will step in and do what's right for the integrity of the NFL; and in the interest of the public -- justice for the victim's family.

Since when is the NFL the arbiter of justice or integrity? They destroyed the tapes. There is what's right for the NFL and Justice for the victims and society. They are in no way related.

At this point, it is obvious to me that AH is in deep sh*t. FAR worse than just obstruction of justice. That at least he is going to walk the plank for.

But with the constant and thorough approach by the Mass State police, it points to AH's direct involvement. He's either complicit or he was the actual guy that pulled the trigger.

I'm also convinced the police is doing a very involved job that will include a lot of forensic evidence.... DNA, fingerprints, witness testimony, they will not only have tons of circumstantial evidence, they will have direct evidence pointing to AH's involvement.

Suffice it to say, it's going to be a very long time before AH plays football again. If he gets complicity or murder, well, call it a career. If he gets obstruction of justice and anything less right on down to never even being charged, he probably will not play at all this season.

Safe to say the "patriot way" has just become a complete crock of sh*t.
