Arrow Revis pays over $50,000.00 for the rights to ~ ~ ~

Revis forks over 50 large for No. 24

Mark Barron didnít really need the money, but Darrelle Revis needed the number.

PFT has confirmed that the Buccaneers newcomer at cornerback has indeed forked over $50,000 for the rights to No. 24, the number he wore with the Jets. The figure was first reported by Uni-Watch.com.Revis wore No. 25 at Pitt, but he is far better known for the NFL number he was assigned upon joining the Jets in 2007.Barron, a top-1o pick in 2012, had no extensive attachment to No. 24. At Alabama, Barron wore No. 4. He has since switched to No. 23.

Itís unclear whether anyone had to pay Nike for the change in Barronís number. In multiple past circumstances, a player who wanted to change his jersey number faced the reality of an invoice from Reebok for the inventory of jerseys bearing his current number. In this specific case, Nike likely will make a lot more in the long run from Revis-24 jerseys than Nike will lose from the pre-existing stock of Barron-24.

Who the Funk cares what a TB Buc paid for a number? This is a non-story, about a non-Jet. Post this on mevis.com.

so if a newcomer came into your business and gave you $50,000 for your office chair (just pretending you work at an office) you would feel inclined to donate it all to charity and not invest it in some stocks or a safe investment and double, triple, or quadruple your money, so by the time you retire you have a huge fall back option? Barron can do whatever the **** he wants to do with that money. It's not like Revis was going to donate that to charity anyways. he was just going to stock pile it in a room and look at it and say "i'm the highest paid corner, and if anyone gets more im holding out!"

+1 send your kid to college courtesy of Revis or invest in your retirement...... is not Barron's fault he was offered a large amount of $$$ for #24.

Hell if he invest the money right than hopefully it will keep him off ESPNs Broke 2.0 in 10 years or so.

There have been many stories about players shelling out something to other players for their numbers, trips and grills etc.
