I get why people would hate the move, and maybe NY isn't the place for him to try at comeback (at least not with the Jets).
But personally, I'd much rather see Jamarcus Russell - a guy who once had enough talent to go #1 overall - giving it a shot in the 4th quarter of a preseason game than watch Greg McElroy try and move the team five yards at a time.
It's unlikely that either QB has a future in the NFL. But I'd be much more interested to watch the guy that at least has the requisite physical talent.
I wouldn't mind him as the 3rd/4th stringer at all, to be honest. Just one deep throw TD to Hill/Winslow/Zach Rogers will shut people up. We haven't had a legit cannon armed qb since Favre. This dude is really motivated and seems like he's learned his lesson. Anyone would have their brains scrambled after being drafted by the Raiders.
