At least SAR (and a good sized chunk of us) have sifted through some truly agonizing defeats.

But a couple of mildly disappointing playoff losses where we were expected to accomplish somewhere between "jack" and "sh*t"?

Go ask some longtime Chargers, Browns, Eagles or Bengals fans what they "truly" feel...

    LOL

Some actually act spoiled. As if the near misses in Rexs first 2 seasons had to lead to a SB or bust. When it didn't happen they can't accept that the teams window closed so they took the tried and true approach of blaming the HC.

Much easier to blame one guy, to replace one guy than to blame and replace many on the roster.

    Agreed

Hell, I didn't even mention the Bills of the early 90's with Scott Norwood leading the lowest of the low points.

4 straight Superbowl appearances lead by the likes of Jim Kelly, Thurman Thomas, Bruce Smith, Andre Reed, Don Beebe, etc with the great Marv Levy and Bill Polian leading the show...and not ONE championship to show for it?

Oh, but "woe is me"...we're the lowly NYJ. *sniff* *sniff*

We have the whiniest, pussiest fanbase in all of sports.

    Bar none.

    It's pathetic.

I'm pessimistic about Rex. Been discussed ad nauseam. In short, it is not about what has happened the past two years, it is about HOW it has happened. And Rex is pretty much the only thing I have ever agreed with SAR on despite what some people claim.

As for being spoiled, I became a fan under Kotite.

Apologies if I opposed a thread that basically celebrates the misery of a city/fan base. Especially after what they have just gone through with the marathon. I remember after 9/11 receiving a ton of support from BoSox fans and Bostonians in general so that is where I coming from on this. The Pats, AH, Kraft, BB are all fair game but why try to kick a city and fan base while they are down?

    "just pessimistic about Rex"

    are you serious, DeeDee?

you are the f-ing king of SOJFs here at JI (if you are actually a Jet fan at all, which is questionable at best)

I don't want this thread to become about my views of the team. All I am going to say is that your quote is wrong and quite typical of what you and others do. Also, if I am not a Jets fan then it is pretty weird for me to be a PSL owner. Any differences we have can be discussed via PM if you want.

This thread just skirts truly bad-taste, but there is a shadow over it that's hard to avoid. Trash talking with fans of your rivals is routine. Trashing a city that's been through some bad times that go way beyond sports is just unclassy. Do not like.

So you endured one or two years of horror and then had it easy.

    Ouch, that sucks.

You are in no position to whine and look at the glass half empty at every turn.

This is "reversion to the mean" for Boston sports fans!

Look up the concept if you're not familiar with it.

I think "regression" to the mean is more accurate. Rube.

Pats lost one player. No biggie. 12-4. Yawn.

This would be a good week in alot of towns.

The AH situation alone makes this a bad time for Boston fans in an unprecedented way. But overall, I think 1986 was clearly worse, e.g.:

    1. The horrifically bad anthem, "New England, the Patriots and We" is released in a lame attempt to respond to "Super Bowl Shuffle".

    2. Pats embarrassed by the Bears 46-10 in SB XX.

    3. Shortly after the SB, several key players on the Pats are outed as hardcore coke abusers.

    4. Speaking of coke, Len Bias dies of an overdose two days after being drafted by the Celtics.

    5. Red Sox get one strike away from the title, then lose the WS to the Mets.

    6. Scott Wedman plays the entire NBA finals in short shorts that are at least 4 sizes too small.

If Things was from Boston #6 would have overpowered the rest of that into the greatest month ever.

everyone who starts threads like these or talks **** in other threads about Boston sports are ignorant. I mean i think of the same thing from time to time, but just keep it to yourself. Boston teams have had a lot more success than NY teams within the past 10 years, but everytime they have a misstep, people slap them in the face and laugh at them like we have the rights to look down on them.

When you act all high and mighty and talk down to others the way those Baston dooshbaaaaahgs do, you DESERVE to get trash-talked.

That's completely untrue. Thanks for playing, though.
