Poll: Who would you pick as the Jets defensive captain?

    Poll attached:

    The choices are:

    A) David Harris
    B) Muhammad Wilkerson
    C) Antonio Cromartie
    D) Someone else

If you pick someone else, be nice enough to post a reply in the thread and elaborate on your choice.

For me it's a toss up between Harris & Wilkerson.

Cro certainly deserves consideration the way he stepped up last season.

Cromartie. Clearly our best player at this point. And he hates Tom Brady, can't overlook that

Cro played well last season no doubt.

Wilkerson was an absolute beast too and should have went to the pro bowl.

Cro has become a new player without Revis. He's taken the backfield as his own. He has amazing skills, and any move that can nourish his new found commitment should be made. It's kind of the same idea as the one behind making Holmes a captain, except Cro actually earned it. I think it would help him, as much as it does the defense.

    Cro.

If/when Wilk signs his next contract with the Jets he should be made a captain.

I want Brains before anything else from my captain. Harris

I think any of the 3 are worthy, particularly Cro the way he has stepped up as a player and a leader since Revis became injured then was traded. If I only get one choice though, it's Wilkerson. This team is now all about building for long-term success and he is the guy who will be a star on this team for years to come. Making him captain would help usher in a new era for the Jets, and it's not outside the realm of possibilities that neither Harris nor Cromartie are even on the team in 2014.

It's not in the spirit of the question, but I'd actually prefer making both Cro and Mo captains, because it would be a slap in Cro's face to leave him out.

Harris & Wilkerson was my initial thought but I actually picked Wilkerson.

The man plays with alot of fire and I think that's what you want out of your defensive captain.

I'd say Demario Davis will become the leader of this defense soon.

We can only hope that what Rex said he saw in this kid comes to fruition.

None. Captains are dumb in pro sports unless you happen to have a Ray Lewis-type of figure around nobody cares.

    Whoever the players elect.

If you have to have captains, it should be a team vote so you don't have ludicrous situations like Rex picking Holmes.

I think you would pretty hard-pressed to find an NFL team that doesn't have a team captain on offense & defense.

I am okay with any two players one offense and one defense. The players must be the ones who choose them not the coaching staff.
While I really like the thought of Wilk on D, he is still too young, but one day soon. Cro in my humble opinion has earn the leadership of his team mates, yet, it's still up to them
Hands down for me if I was an offensive player it would have to be Mangold.
