    Myths

I was reading an article in todays paper called:

"The myth about crime and the NFL"

I cant link because its a pay site now, but the point was that the crime rate among NFL players was actually MUCH lower for NFL players than the general population. I would have never guessed that. The EPIDEMIC of crime is the NFL is often mentioned.

What other myths are out there? Are there myths you see accepted as facts that you know aren't true? Just because they seem like the must be true, or they are repeated enough that it just gets accepted?

Statistics are a wonderful thing. I know many of you don't like Stossel but this whole book is about statistics that contradict conventional thinking.

I would have - NFL players, on the whole, have had at least some college and, at a minimum, make hundreds of thousands of dollars a year.

A more valid comparison would be against the part of the population in the average NFL player's tax bracket

The content of the show is still good and that should be what matters.

Production matters as well, Stossel as a consumer reporter is a lot better than the Libertarian Fox News reporter.

It's a Myth that "people want to work".

A goodly portion of the public at large would happily NOT work another day in their lives if the Government would pay for all their neccessities of life.
