Klecko (my Bullmastiff) got bit by a snake.

Well my heathen babyboy played with a copperhead who didn't wanna play yesterday. He's fine of course, but I was wondering what you guys in the NorthEast do when your dogs get bit.
I gave the big bastard a benadryl and a glucosimine/MSM combo pill and he's good. Sleepy as hell but good.
Lets here some good wives tale remedies from the Apple. Or wherever you reside.

He's fine. He is asleep on one of my ANW pads by the porch. Swollen but wiser.
    And, the snakes dead.

Poor guy. Glad he is doing OK. Some dogs are too curious for their own good.

Luckily the only thing I have ever had to deal with for my pooches is a tick.

Glad to hear he's doing ok.

My favorite copperhead story happened years ago at a golf course I worked at. We were working and we saw a big copperhead in the middle of a fairway so I sent a guy in to get a shovel so I could chop its head off. (Golf members are not fond of snakes)

As we were waiting for the shovel, my boss comes riding up on a mower with a 72" front deck. He yells "copperhead", smiles, drops the deck and throws the blades on. The copperhead shot out in a ton of pieces all over the fairway.

My boss just smiled and said "clean that up" and drove away.

Must bad year for copperheads...my brother had 2 dogs in the last month get nailed by 'em.
Just a week before the 1st one got bite my sister-in-law killed a black snake, I told her to leave it alone, but she didn't listen, now they have a problem with copperheads.

Had one in my pool last week, wife thought it was a leaf until it started swimming after her.

As an owner of a Jack Russell, I can definitely see that happening. Those dogs are absolutely fearless.

She used to run wind sprints with me while the soccer matches, sorry, soccer parents, raged. It was my boys dog; when they played soccer she was a handful.

Yes, he's awesome and gentle and a lumbering beast, but that's why I got him.
Day three and he's still a little weak but happy and almost normal.
