I'm a pilot so I don't see the every day on goings but you get a really good picture of what this country is like from the air
Oh I was actually genuinely asking. My parents are from a 3rd world country, and I've been plenty of times, and have seen terrible infrastructure and all. Even so, alcohol and alcohol consumption are defensive qualities...they exist even amongst the poor

I just wasn't sure if they had such things in an islamic community that wasn't known for tourism. For example, even in Dubai, they have bars set up for 'foreigners.'

Certainly for U.S. forces there is no such thing as a bar. I've never been on foot in any of the "cities" so I honestly couldn't tell ya. I'd venture to say they are few and far between though.

First, Thank you for your service, watch your six and get home in one piece Being a rotor head your odds are a little better then the ground pounders.
Glad your a short timer, I will be even happier when we let that country go back to the normal tribal killings and living in the third century.
It a damn shame we have to lay American lives on the line for a people whom the majority hate us. Anyway you will be back in the world very soon and Jets fans are buying.
God bless and keep you and every one in uniform safe.

^ right here is why I regret not going into the military when I was younger. Aside from the conflicts, military life probably would have been what I needed growing up.

I tip my hat to those serving. You're all more of a man than I will ever be.

    Come home soon!
