Ron Artest is still one of the league's best perimeter defenders. Amare should be an effective scorer off the bench we got Kmart back for a full season and JR Smith will be back by the third week of regular season. Smells like 6th seed in the east to me
Not to mention Shumpert with another season under his belt, he's on the verge of becoming a fantastic player IMO. Him and Artest are both excellent perimeter defenders.

I wish they had more depth in the paint and at point guard, but this is still a very good team with some nice depth. Guys like Artest, Bargnani, and Hardaway off the bench are much more valuable than the likes of Novak, Camby, etc that saw minutes last year.

    +1

You make a good point about Shump. Both he and Artest together are going to be a terror on the perimeter. Melo prefers playing the 4 anyway. And Bargnani and Tim Jr > Crappy Novak and Ancient Camby.
